Why won’t prospects walk the stage? They do it in all the other successful pro sports that do a decentralized draft.

I put the quote below from Burke. It sounds like a stand and wave, maybe go up and shake hands with Bettman?
Unless I’m missing something, prospects gets their named called via screen when they’re picked, do some sort of acknowledgement and sit down(assuming they pay to go to the event. It’s a lot different then standing with the whole team that drafted you). The other question is the “on the floor” deals. Do they add time for teams to call each other? The expense is now all on the kids and will any skip?I’m just not sure how you even implement it. Here are quotes from the article:
It’s not going to be anywhere close to the same. You mean, you’ve been on that stage. You welcome kids to organizations. Do you have a thought or two or can you share a story or a thought on what that moment is like?
Burke: “No, you’re right. I don’t have to add anything. You’re right. And we’re taking that away. So the kids will still stand up. They’ll still hug his mom and dad, but it won’t be the same. It won’t be in front of 19,000 people. Won’t be the same at all.
