It funny how nobody is really impressed by Barkov the captain who makes ten million and would rather play darts than take ownership of the team that he is captain of.

The Panthers know deep down inside that Bobrosky is a mediocre goalie. But you cannot sit down a ten-million-dollar goalie and cannot trade him because he's overpriced and has a no-trade clause in his contract. The Panthers are stuck between a rock and a hard place. And that my dear friend is the crux of the matter.

Barky and Ekblad are often hurt. It’s frustrating, but out of their control.

I (like most Cats fans) did not like Bob’s contract from day one. Way too much. But it was the cost of doing business at the time — unfortunately.

I don’t think he’s mediocre, though. He just has the frustration of being streaky. He can be lights out, or struggle (like he did a couple seasons back). I think he’s good majority of the time, especially given the team defense in front of him. Don’t forget that he was a major reason for Florida’s Stanley Cup Finals run last season.

I think the Panthers have a really nice tandem now with Bob and Stolarz. Looking forward to seeing what these two guys do this year.

Quit having a pity party for these guys, either you perform or you're out of a job. I can see myself at a job in the real world and making big money, and I keep calling in sick. where do you think that would get me? Or I'm not producing results. Nobody would sympathize with me; they would be finding a replacement for me.

I’m not having a pity party by any means. I’ve often expressed my frustration with the seemingly endless injuries and general complacency of many of the core guys. I’ve even said that I think Tkachuk will be wearing the C very soon.

I’ve also had my frustrations with Bob, but I think he’s an above-average goalie for sure. Bad contract, but a good goaltender.

Just my opinion though.

I'm really sick and tired of saying the defense is bad in front of Bobrosky. I have heard this since the beginning of time. I guess Forsling, Montour, Ekblad, Eric Staal, Mikkola, and Gudas were bad defensemen. Maybe we should get Adam Fox, Makar, Karlsson, and Josi as our defensemen, a fat chance of that happening. The only other reason could be poor coaching, and I agree with that, Maurice sucks at this. He doesn't have a defensive system or plan in his years of coaching.

But that’s the reality. Florida has poor defense for years. There’s just no shut down game there.

You can piss off and pretend to cheer for any other team whenever you like. a) your desk jockey job isn't a physical sport demanding wear and tear and potential injury. b) Barkov averages about 72 games a season. missing 10 games isn't bad.

Believe me I did hard physical labor all my life, but I didn't have the medical care Barkov gets from the Panther medical, and physical therapy teams. He gets the best nutrition from licensed dietitians and plenty of professional advice on how to train his body to avoid injuries. But his being off the team due to injuries has become chronic over many years of his career. He's no leader and he doesn't carry a team for what he's making.

PS I like to get a rise out of all you other desk jockeys!

Well, the Panthers can be like Jacque Lemaire and play the trap, but is that boring hockey? Also, he had Martin Brodeur who was in a league of his own.

Bennett still out for tonight. I guess Barkov is back in after being out sick last game.

In other news...
@GeorgeRichards
Good news for the #FlaPanthers: Aaron Ekblad and Brandon Montour are planning to join practice tomorrow in non-contacts. Window of return now sounds like Thanksgiving.

Was bummed to hear Bennett was still out. Hopefully Barky is at (or close to) 100%.

Encouraging news about Ekblad and Monty.

Gotta jump on this young goalie tonight!

Bob was really good again. Made some big saves to keep the game tied, and during the last few minutes as Seattle pushed for the tying goal.

I think all the Florida Panther defensemen played great, kudos to them.
