Ok, why the late start??? I see the games all hve their times staggered by 15 min intervals except for the 3 late games which have 1/2 hr intervals. What do they wish to accomplish with this? Another Bettman brainer?

All I’ve heard is what came out of the spin cycle. The desire to cram as many games into one night. If you think about the intervals, you can channel surf during the breaks and watch a different games. This can offer a “bump” in ratings. You may have missed it, but Bettman has asked each team about doing the draft virtually. Expense is becoming a big issue, and if it looks like average viewership was up 10-20% (even if only for 5 minutes) you have a month of that number before Nielsen comes out.

That was my positive thought on it, when one game goes to intermission, usually most of them are there also, tonight I can swap around and watch another game for 15 minutes instead of watch analysis and stuff about Light the Lamp.
