I also think sending Knight to Charlotte is the right move. Let him be the starter there and play instead of sitting behind Bob most nights. Also keeps them from having to sneak Stolarz through waivers, especially now with TB most likely looking to snag an upgrade over their current goaltenders with Vasi out for 2 months. It will be interesting to see how they handle the goalies. Knight has looked good so far.
Samoskevich turning heads, and many saying he should make opening night roster. I think they will send him down and let him fine tune his game some more, though. He’ll most likely be the first called up when injury inevitably strikes. Denisenko hasn’t been too impressive so far, but idk if they’ll risk losing him on waivers to send him down so Samoskevich can stay. They won’t keep Samoskevich here to play on the 4th line.
Ludvig going to be a good defenseman for the Cats in the future.

Great insight, Rats.
Yep, I’ve been seeing Samoskevich is making a really good case for himself. Talented guy.
I think when it comes to Knight and Stoly…Knight is so young and trying to bounce back. The more time he gets with game action (AHL) the better. Stolarz is older and has a solid resume - his time is now.

Knight should absolutely be in the AHL for a while. He missed roughly half the season last year in EAP. It will be best for conditioning, timing, etc. to be the regular guy in Charlotte, rather than get irregular, back-up time in Florida. Best to make sure he's 100% ready before throwing the NHL at him. Panthers absolutely need to put him in position to succeed rather than throw him to the lions. Let's get success and confidence in him so he's the best goalie he can be over the long run.
Go Panthers!

Lol, it’s funny how many announcers pronounce Lomberg as Lomborg - Ratsreign
Haha. Yea, hearing “Lomborg” always makes me chuckle. |
