Yikes, guess I was wrong about that one. And I can't even say it's the wrong move for sure, but definitely surprised this early unless they think it will help him get through. What an awful Marino trade. |

If Smith gets claimed, which I think there's a pretty decent chance of, then we basically handed the Devs Marino for nothing...well, a 3rd round pick...for a top 4 RD....

They can all get claimed. It's pretty obvious Pitlick was never on the pens radar and was just a contract to add to the Petry trade. |

Funny enough that the people that stood out the most were all the pens prospects, and ex prospect - zoho |

None of the PTO guys stood out and I wasn't impressed with Johnsson/Hinestroza either. |

They did to us, but Poulin and Puustinen are still practicing in the second group away from the vets now. Doesn't look like any of our prospects unless you count Nylander or Z are being considered atm. |

Personally I’d rather see Poulin getting top line minutes in the A over minimal minutes in the bottom 6. With the time away last year he can use all the minutes he can, regardless of how good he has looked. Pustinen is a top 6 fill in and if he isn’t regarded better than nylander for that fill in spot he might as well be in the A as well playing big minutes. I disagree with sully in how he wants everyone moldes into Craig adams unless you’re a superstar. I imagine kessel or most Russian snipers would never get the call up if sully was their head coach. Z needs to quit being a wussy then I’ll like him better haha. |

Yup. Gotta have all the depth players fit into a specific role.

I partially agree. I'm not sure either Poulin or Puustinen is ultimately a top 6 player, so I'd be fine if they got that initial run on the third line over Nieto. That's probably where either starts anyways. But I wouldn't want them playing lower over big minutes in the AHL.
And who thinks Nieto is a good choice there? There's like six guys I'd rather see over him. |

He has a one year contract. Assuming it's two way though don't think it was confirmed and it doesn't matter to us. (Actually makes it easier to sneak through waivers if needed) |
