Why didn't the head coach try this last year during rebuild year 1?

I really do not believe Andrae is on Torts radar at the moment. That could change sure.

No not see ND being benched over Wade. Or anyone right now.

It’s gonna be ugly no matter how you dice. That D group is one of the 2-3 worst in the NHL.

I can't recall where I saw it, but Torts did have some positive comments about Andrae's game. I think he was talking after one of the scrimmages where Andrae set up a nice goal. Just talked about his vision on the ice, and that he likes how he moves the puck and skates. Again, I don't have the clip where it was said, but it was said. I think he has at least a 50/50 chance of making the team out of camp.

Top 6 is set. Unless they carry 8 or waive Zamula do not see a path for him. No issue with him in LHV to start

Torts is nothing but a one trick pony who "develops" players through tough love.

Downright pathetic to have tied ourselves to this guy as assistant GM.

Funny that we will likely see only one youngster in Foerster make the opening night lineup in whats two years of apparent rebuilding.

The Flyers sure know what they are doing, just ask the Alumni.

Torts has said young players will be given priority. He specifically said that he told Stall that he’s here to be a mentor and that he will not be playing every game.

Specially about Andrea, he said he liked that he doesn’t panic and just throw the puck up the boards but makes a smart pass and that gets them out of the zone. He added that he’s going to push some people for a spot.

No guarantee he makes it as it’s only a few days into camp but the idea that Torts isn’t going to play a guy who’s earned a spot just because he’s young is unfounded.

When a player is ready is also a very subjective assessment, and the Flyers for a long time now have been near the bottom of the league as far as developing/extracting actual high end talent.

Maybe giving jobs to former Flyers, or friends of Keith Jones at every turn isn’t the best strategy.

The Flyers utilized a multi-faceted and dynamic approach to finding their next President of Hockey Ops. The consultants recommended Keith Jones completely independent of any internal influence or favoritism.

Complete coincidence that they hired a guy whose office was right down the hall.

I’ve read at least 3 sites insisting that the Flyers went after Shane Pinto. If Ottawa believes they could be a winner, they just lost Alex DeBrincat and can’t sign Pinto. Why not take on Konency for Pinto and whatever details the two teams can workout? Pinto for Frost definitely doesn’t make sense but shedding Konency’s salary while getting a young player and Ottawa filling a hole makes sense to me.

We tried to get them to go for a frost for pinto deal, but I heard they wanted Laughton instead. If that is the case Ottawa would have to add to make that deal as Laughton has more value than Pinto.

If they want TK then that starts with there 1st rd picks. IF they want us to take salary back then prospects get added.

I don’t have the answer to this. If you move TK for a possible top six center with size and a 20 season under his belt, to me that’s as good as a first round pick.

Dumb move would be him playing in LHV, because he has the skill to play for the Flyers and is better overall then half our current dmen.
