Lame cause he’s our guy in Mcleod, but the NHL slapped the hawks on the wrist for the Kyle Beach assault. Any suspensions of these players; even if they are guilty, is so two-faced by the league it makes me sick.

Pretty simple for me. If it comes out that McLeod was involved, then see ya. Terminate his contract and move on. Alex Formenton treatment.

Rick Westhead with an update today saying that back in October it was written in court documents that there are believed to be grounds to charge atleast 5 players. So we'll see if McLeod is one of them or not.

So long Boqvist. Hope you have success in Boston.

Hope McLeod is not implicated, but if so he'll likely be let go...unfortunately, but understandably

You think it is two faced to try and make up for previous mistakes? Such a weird take.

obviously people should be punished for doing bad things, but having any type of penalty mere months after not doing anything to Chicago is going to look like the league protecting one of their big market teams so they can get a generational talent.

More importantly doing the right thing now doesn't absolve the league from doing the wrong thing previously.

Obviously nothings official yet, but I doubt Fitz thinks it’s likely McLeod will be found guilty.

Shero and Fitz put a lot of effort into having psychologists involved with these players. I’m sure they had internal interviews with Mikey and felt like he wasn’t involved.

McLeod is one of the best faceoff guys in the league. Given they let Boqvist go and the lack of any further moves, it seems like they’re planning on McLeod being here.

Or you can look at it the complete opposite direction. The team has absolutely no idea, like every other team(because no information has been given to teams yet), and they just arent sure whether he's involved or not. So they traded for Lazar last deadline and have been trying to convert Foote to a center as well just to make sure they have a potential back up plan. Then they only gave him a 1 year deal this summer to make it easier to get out of it, when he was our most likely bottom 6 player to get a multi-year deal.

Completely pointless to speculate like that on this poop. Lets just wait and see what the report says. Either he was involved and hes gone or hes not and everybody continues on.

After not doing anything in Chicago?

Quennville hasn't been able to coach and their front office is out of the league (Bowman, Blunk, McDonough)

What more did you want? Beach was an adult in his 20's and had oral sex with an adult male.

Who else do you want punished for what he did backin CHI while the team was playing in the playoffs in the road?

The coach sexually assaulted him and Chicago let him quit and sign a letter of recommendation where he went and worked for a college and sexually abused students there. There was no punishment because nobody went to jail, where a lot of people should be for their negligence.

And nobody gives a poop about the coach, the org knew and covered it up for years. Honestly, you are just a (frank)ing moron.

I look at it like Fitz trusts him and McLeod has told him he’s not involved. Or Fitz said hey I’ll sign you and if you’re found guilty then the contract is terminated.

The Devils have signed Chris Tierny to a 1 year, 2 way deal. 775K in the NHL, 400k in the AHL. More center depth/insurance into the org.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. As soon as I saw they signed Tierney, I was like McLeod replacement if he’s involved. If McLeod is in the clear it’s possible Tierney goes down to Utica as he signed a two-way contract.

I wouldn't say McLeod replacement per se, but I agree its more insurance just in case. If McLeod is cleared, Tierny will likely be in Utica all year outside of injuries bringing him up. If McLeod needs to be replaced, Lazar replaces him and Tierny replaces Lazar as an extra.

Speaking of depth, is Cal Foote still a UFA?

I've got a bad feeling about Mikey McLeod... A lot of players came out and made statements that they were not involved where Mikey only made a statement that he was cooperating. Granted it's not much to go on, but that doesn't make me optimistic.

McLeod is the best faceoff guy on the team. Lazar might take a roster spot, but he’s damn sure not replacing Mikey’s contribution.

Lol. Dude might be involved in a sexual assault and all you keep talking about is how he's good at faceoffs. Cmon man.

Everybody here knows nobody is going to fully replace his on-ice contributions, he's arguably one of the best 4th line centers in the league. It's a downgrade no matter who the team puts there. And yet, it just doesn't matter. If he's involved, get him the (frank) off this team.

Never said to keep him if he’s found guilty. Not sure where that came from.

It's just strange how you keep trying to talk about how good he is, is all. Especially when it's something as serious as this. Sometimes its good to read the room and know its not the time to be praising the player(especially when there are rumblings that it doesn't look good for said player). There are things that are just more important than hockey/sport.

There were a lot of teammates who started they were not involved with the activities in question. McLeod said he couldn’t comment further than his statement and that he was cooperating. He didn’t say he wasn’t involved. He did not make a statement of innocence. Which doesn’t mean he’s violates but it’s a material difference in how he responded. Details matter.

Yeah its strange. I had to double check to make sure but 17 of the 21 players involved either made a personal statement or their agency make a statement denying their involvement. McLeod, Katchouk, and Batherson only said that they were cooperating with the investigation, but didnt comment further. Formenton was the only player to not comment at all.

Maybe we can read into that, maybe not. But we also know that there is a photo out there of McLeod, Formenton, Katchouk, and someone else in a hotel room together that night. I know a lot of the people who are saying/assuming he's guilty is because of that picture. But i wont go that far, thats just unfair to him.
