Ottawa point production is better than .700 hockey since the all star break. You are forecasting that they will now play at .333 for the balance of the season. Their next four games are Columbus, Chicago, Seattle and Vancouver. I will take the over. |

According to the "projected" final standings, Ottawa will go 7-14-0 in the last 21 games despite bolstering the blue line and playing their best hockey of the season lately.
It gets even more ridiculous when looking at the East Wild Card spots. In order to hit their "projected" final standings of 44-28-9 (which is only 81 games btw), they'd have to go 14-1-3. Pittsburgh would need to go 17-2-2.
Laughable. I didn't even look at the rest. These projections are a joke.

Kings going 6-10-3 with one of the easiest remaining schedules? Yikes! |

In case anyone is curious, the Buzztron is 19-19 so far.
Also, I didn't think this was possible, but the revised projections are even more far-fetched than the first attempt.
So Boston has nothing to play for but is going 17-1-3...but New Jersey just 9-9-3?
Pittsburgh goes 17-2-2 after adding Kulikov and Granlund? Umm, OK.
Florida only loses 1 out 19 games in regulation?
LA goes 6-10-3 but still make the playoffs because Seattle goes 6-14-0. Vancouver however goes on a tear with a 14-6-1 finish.
And of course Chicago still hasn't rejoined the NHL. |

Going to make it hard on them to win the draft lottery if Ek doesn't allow them to re-up with the big league. |

Looking at just the West, there appear to be a few "glitches" to work out still...
Colorado going 19-4-0 (jumping from WC2 to #1 in the division)
Vegas going 14-5-1
Edmonton going 14-4-1
LA going 6-10-3 (after addressing two glaring weaknesses at the deadline)
Seattle going 6-14-0 (and missing the playoffs, despite being top-3 in the division since American Thanksgiving)
It'll be either those teams' best month+ of the season or their worst, no in between.
BTW, that doesn't take into account last night's games, since these predictions were made before them. They look even worse now, since Colorado and Edmonton lost and LA won (all opposite the predictions). |
