Trevor Neufeld: Alex Stalock’s Unreal Season — Flames-Blackhawks Game Day

Flames need to win these games against the lesser teams. Can’t take a night off as the Oilers are barely behind us.
Would have loved to see Pelts in the lineup, but with Looch notching his 3rd on the season, I think it’s safe to say he’s not getting moved off that 2nd line anytime soon. Ruzicka has some history with him so maybe we’ll see them on a line together with Lewis.
Funny how Hall of Fame GM, Ken Holland has continued to make bad decisions for the Oilers. You would almost think the game has past him, and it might be time to retire.

Maybe Lucic should take first line minutes so he can have 4 goals on the year ? Atta boy Sutter keep sitting offensive minded players for plugs like Lucic and Lewis cause that’s how to score goals playing guys that can’t spell the word.

With Flames fans its called an inferiority complex. That explains why they cant have a discussion about their team without trying to insult another team totally out of context. The reason Stalock was traded was at his request and the Oil kept him on payroll for an entire year while he recovered from Covid effects. Both benefits to the individual that a good considerate hockey team does. Something the Flames organization is not know for doing.

Lucic should definitely be on the fourth line.
As far as Lewis I like his game. He is perfect on the fourth line and a very valuable penalty killer

Could you look into shooting percentages? I am willing to bet many of the guys on the Flames are having the worst year of their careers.

Either Sutter or Tre talked last year about having forward lines based on pairings.

Toffoli and Lindholm have not been overly dominant in many games. Naz and Hubs have started to produce but IMO are still not where we need them. These are the pairings that supposedly should be driving the offense.

The only forward pairing that is playing well on the team is Backs and Coleman. If your 3rd line is the only line that is excelling then you are not going to win many games.

As for the other forwards in the top 9 Dube and Mange have played with energy but have next to no production. Lucic has played better than we had hoped on the second line but that is not a long-term solution.

I would like to see Ruzica get more time in the top 6. Try Pelletier for a game with Naz and Hubs.
