Since Teddy came back November 15th the Pens have only given up 3 goals on the PK. It's obviously more than just him, but that's insane.

Same thing happened last season. Can't recall the exact numbers, but when Blue broke his jaw our PK was like 2nd or 3rd. By the time he returned we had dropped out of the top 10, and it was noticeably improved after. No idea what it is about him, but he is the X factor that makes our PK work.

He's just a very good hockey player. The Pens win percentage (Count the ties as losses) with him in the line up is .633; without .490.

Either way you look at it, that's a big difference.

Even more reason to stay in the "Blue must be brought back" minority. Chances of some cheaper replacement equaling any of those with/without numbers are slim to none.

Carter at 2c? Archie’s stepping right into that role when Geno eventually goes down for an extended stretch.

Blueger should get around $3M, the same range as our 'third line' guys are getting. The truth is we call whatever line he's on the 4th line but in reality it's our 3rd. Has been for going on three years now.

Jarry's is going to be big. His base salary for this year is $4.5M. Not sure if we can afford to keep him, what I am sure is we can't afford to lose him.

We are actually in good shape money wise going forward. With the cap going up a million, JJ's buyout dropping a million, swapping in Smith for Dumo like you said which should be another 3 million(Smith is RFA), plus at least a couple of million added for Zucker(whether he signs for less or is replaced) will be more than enough to make Jarry happy and give Blue another 800K or so. And with Carter/Kappy done the next year, we're fine for Jake when it's time.

I figure Jarry at about 7 per which cap increase/Dumo covers. Blue should be around 3 so the JJ buyout covers that. Still leaves a couple million from Zucker to cover small raises for Smith/Archi/Poehling and breathing room.

3ish for Blue is what I figure too. I figure Jarry for 7 for 5 or 6.5 for 6(only 3 goalies make more right now) which we can do no problem. With the cap only going up a million this year I can't see any team throwing Bob money at a goalie.

I was thinking a 6x6 deal given the cap is only going up a mill. Either way he is probably priority #1. Teddy is probably #2.

Obviously Archibald should get extended first. Teams going no where without that energy.

I was thinking in the 7 range. Hexy should be trying to lock him up now. Can't let him get to UFA. I wish he had a little more proven track record in the playoffs, but they really don't have a choice.

My #2 priority would be a Zucker replacement. I might even look for a better 3C before Teddy. I like TB, but he might be my cap casualty if they need the money for Jarry and an UFA LW.

O'Connor skated as extra D, he isn't even being considered at the moment. Too bad, you have two guys who aren't producing, Kap and Heinen, and they aren't even getting pushed.

I'm interested in how the Carolina game pans out. With Kapanen basically benched the third period. Blueger saw some time with Carter and McGInn.

I would always play McGinn Blueger Carter , bench Kap and poop, play Angello at 4c. This is where a Boyle at league minimum would be nice so Kap doesn’t have to be in the lineup when someone gets hurt.
