I didn't see the game, but the comments I read make me very thankful I didn't. It is amazing to think that less then a week ago this team torched Winnipeg in their own building.
Did the first line actually play 20 minutes against Pittsburgh Tuesday? Seriously? With a back-to-back the next day?
Why in the world did both goalies stink like they did? How many of the nine goals were on them? Six? Seven?
What is going on with Kuraly? Why did he lose his temper the whole night?
This is beyond belief, and someone has to take the fall for this. Maybe Elvis needs to leave the building for Cleveland, or someone else's AHL affiliate.
The only reason for hope is I remember Montreal giving up 10 goals to the CBJ several years ago, but (if I remember correctly) they pulled themselves together and made the playoffs anyway. Hopefully this will help the team start playing better in the future.

I remember playing on a beer league team with a bunch of guys that had only started playing in recent years (or months), lol @ the games we played against teams with lifelong players, some them who had even played Junior hockey... the first period last night kinda resembled one of those games. |

Last night it looked like we were skating uphill all game, Buffalo skating downhill. I think at one time in the first Buffalo scored on 4 straight shots.
Right now just a very sad story with this team. Too often they look so disoriented on the ice, or maybe just disinterested !!
I really don't know what the next steps should be. Ever since Jarmo signed him, I've said Larsen is not the right coach for this team and in over his head, and this season just proves it. There's too much of the bad Torts' habits running in Larsen's blood. From a coaching perspective he's a Torts clone without the personality. Lean too much on veterans regardles of mistakes they make. Yank around younger players so much they are confused.
The infamous Lars Bar is his salary amount - and all other candidates were over the Lars Bar !! So he's hired !! |

If you take out the first period it’s 4-3.
If this team was smart we would be seeing some changes by now |

Down to which blue wants it more the Blue Notes or the Union Blue — STL has ROR and Tarasenko
CBJ has Korpi, Gavy, Goose, Bayreuther |

Alright ladies and gentlemen,
Everyone wanted to burn the CBJ to the ground earlier this week, but nobody is saying anything about their win last night that could have been 5 or 6-1 if Liane and others would have scored on some of the grade A chances they had. Still it was a nice win and Elvis showed he can at least be an NHL goalie for two periods.
Yes, they have a lousy record. Yes the start of the season was awful. Yes, a couple of players are having sophomore slumps. Yes, the injuries have been awful. Yes, they should be better and they are not. And yes, at the trade deadline three or four vets will be gone for draft picks and the real disaster will happen.
But it's December. If the CBJ ends up at NHL .500 or above with the injuries and young players playing big minutes every night then what many hoped for at the beginning of the season to happen will have happened. Then 2023-24 could be a big year. and the Buffalo Blowout will be long forgotten.
I won't be happy since I thought they could be a playoff team or even be in the race until late in the year. But those who had lower expectations and wrote off this season in September will get their wish, except for the coaching staff not being fired five or six times over. |
