If you want a third line center, move Poehling up and send Carter to right wing. Not going to happen but that is the move. Then, if and when Blueger gets his hands going he can be the third wheel on that line.

Although at this stage of his career, Sullivan has beaten Blueger down to a fourth liner so much that he actually believes he's a 4C and nothing else. It's a shame, I just hope he doesn't do the same thing with Poehling.

Bottom 6 grinders definitely have given this team a lift during this winning run. McGinn replacing Kapanen has had a great effect on that line looking competent, and he's been on quite the heater. Probably not sustainable, and this is where I might have preferred giving DOC or Poulin the shot if possible, but he's earning the job for now.

What a difference Blueger makes for that 4th line and the PK. Despite the well known fact that anyone can kill penalties, seems like they coincidentally got better at it when he returned. Credit to Poehling and Archibald too, looks like a good line even without McGinn.

Pettersson just doing it all for the team. Not sure if that's what Grinder wanted as far as players stepping up when the stars got hurt, but it was certainly brave. Though I was worried because Pettersson is now too valuable to get hurt

Kind of a nice change of us being the healthy team taking advantage of other team's injuries.

Anyone should be able to kill penalties, but Teddy has been elite at it for a few years. It is nice to see that 4th line with an actual NHL center. Teddy already making a difference in this lineup with his return.

McGinn may have came back down to Earth these last two games. One thing is obvious, he is a much better player on the left side as opposed to the right side.

One problem that created was Heinen going colder than Kapanen. Fifteen games without a goal, three assists in that same period. Maybe he needs to be on the left side also.

On a lighter note, Tortorella looked like he was questioning his decision to be a part of that bunch who call themselves the Flyers. I think he's there for the money, period.

Should be some love for Archi. He's been the perfect 4th liner. PK's well. Draws penalties. Hits and chips in the odd goal. Love this 4th line. I have more confidence in them than the 3rd line.

IMO, Carter isn't capable of driving a line. Heinan's the type of player who needs that. It's kind of funny.... We've been looking for a 3C all these years and it's still a sore spot.

I’d leave the 4th line alone and look for either a proper rw in a trade for preferably mcginn. Or a 3c and move carter over. Maybe a LD upgrade but that’s unlikely.

They are gonna have to try and move Kap out and try and get a 3c in here.

Going to be tough to do that. It never occurred to me, but Mark Madden brought up the Kapi contract the other day. I think he's right. Hexy is probably good friends with his dad from their playing days and he hooked up his friends son with a undeserved contract. I hate to believe our GM would do something like that, but it's the only thing that makes sense.

I think the only way we dump Kap is taking on another under achieving player with both teams hoping for "change of scenery" turnarounds.

Either that or add a pick/prospect to send him to Arizona. Send mcginn or heinen at that point too. But yeah Kap ain’t bringing anything back in a trade except more assets out. I’m not always fond of sully’s decision’s but benching krapanen is one I agree with.

Probably lol, but there is no longer any doubt Kap isn't a fit here so maybe worth a shot. Plus 1 less year on the contract, so it'd only be like a 50+ game experiment at worst.

Lmao at Letang coasting to the bench just watching Marner break in alone. Was going to ask which 2 periods we were going to play tonight, but they didn't even give me time to type it lol

It's on Sportsnet Hockey Night in Canada up here this evening with Sportsnet's production...their own announcers and sh!t. Sometimes Sportsnet just piggy backs the Pens home game feed with Mearsy and Errey... Playing the Leafs on a Saturday night tonight, though.. Pens vs Leafs is big time up here
