Great Flames blog. Treliving continues to scrap for his life, it wasn’t looking good for him or his team but he picked himself up and made the team even better. His contract is up and I heard someone say he might be a replacement for Bettman, not sure if that’s true or not.
Just saw some new D rankings, had Weegar 16 and good ole Tanev ranked 30th. That was a great steal from the Canucks. Tanev has proven to be a great mentor for the Flames young D, wouldn’t be suprized to see him with a letter on his jersey. Canucks still looking for that stud right shot D and we got 2 from them, the other being Rasmus Andersson. Benning couldn’t see the forest through the trees, but some still refer to him as a “good hockey man”.
Look forward to the Young Stars in Penticton be great to see what the teams have coming up. |

I think Kadri is going to be a great Flame, he's the type of player that historically does well with franchise and the fans love. Hard working, skilled and plays with an edge.
Its been well documented since day 1, and he's always been 100% honest since he was traded that the only reason he stopped the deal to the Flames was because he wanted to stay a Leaf. The Avs weren't on his no trade list to that's why the deal got done, so it's never been about going out of his way not to play for them. I think had he waived, he would have been very happy with his decision, but it seems to have worked out both ways. |

Thanks Carol. Didn’t see the Kadri signing as a double stab to Canuck gut. But hey maybe it is and JTM must be traded. |

Wouldn’t it be just fitting that Flames now capped themselves out to sign Weegar and he comes to Canucks.

Sure feels like if we trade JTM now were just going to get steamrolled in the Pacific |

The sacrifice most fans were willing to accept and by the language of this management, a necessity up until they shifted and decided this team was decent and to tweak instead of restructure. They completely changed the language they were using before the draft and free agency. Now many fans follow and start using they new narrative instead.

They didn’t do any draft day deals to sell. Then bought in FA not to mention Kuzmenko as well.
Actions speak louder then words. Signing JTM and Bo will be clear cut they want to compete and not rebuild. |

I get the temptation with how they finished last year. If they get a hot start + playing well they will make a way to sign JTM and BH for sure.
If they are middling, or sucking, I can see any and everything going but Demko, EP, QH for assets and cap.
I get why they don't mind waiting to see. I think they pull the trigger much quicker if they start bad.
A couple teams will get injuries and want JTM + pay more + can retain later in the season to make cap work too.
Excited to see how we stack up but expectations low-medium.

They can't afford both. Not with Myers and OEL still on the team. Doesn't leave much for Pouty, either. |

Re Booze/Pot.
The BCRFA is campaigning hard to get some resolution. The harm a lengthy strike could do to the restaurant/bar industry is immense.
It will also push people to the black market for cannabis with store shelves drying up. Not that this is a huge problem, I imagine you pot heads all have a guy anyway. |

I’m sure they’ll be compliant. Stop worrying PA will be throwing around 8 year contracts like Oprah on her Xmas show. |

Just a devils advocate thing, but what if they get off to a poor start? Does that mean they’ll trade Horvat & Miller, or ride it out to see if they can recover? The closer they get to the deadline, the less likely a player is to sign a new contract. |

I think if they suck the first 20 games....and not trending to playoffs they start letting teams know they will take offers on JTM+ anyone else and will retain or take back an expiring contract to get more assets.
BH they might sign either way depending.
I don't think they will standby and accept a slow start.

I love it. What is Bo worth if Kadri is 7x7? I think that number and term hurt Bo/JTM and help Canucks. Not looking forward to that guy on the flames. |

Appreciate the Flames post Carol.
Honestly what are the (real) chances Miller is still a Canuck in the (immediate) future? |

Weegar Tanev
Kylington Zadorov

There might still be a trade brewing. |
