I think he meant 3 years, as the other players only had 3 consecutive seasons. Although, if it wasn't for Steve Smith's gaffe (or if Edmonton had scored 2 more goals), Gretzky likely would have had done it 6 straight seasons.

I think McDavid should still get consideration. 33 points in 16 games is ridiculous. Could win the playoff scoring race even though hes been eliminated.
