Knowing Jarmo it will probably be a 1 or 2 year prove it contract.
I really like his game, he has the shot and could be something on the PP, injury is an issue but it has to do with the fact he's not a bulky defenseman but rather a power play specialist/ mobile offensive defenseman. So he will probably need to bulk up. |

Wonder what Seth Jones thinks about his role in promoting the trade.
Columbus crushed the Hawks. Chicago lost the trade in terms of immediate impact. Long term Columbus will be an even bigger winner. Chicago is going to be in the playoff wilderness for a very long time. Their prospect pool is empty. No place to go but down.
Sillinger was a great pick.
Columbus may have done even better than Ottawa did on the Karlsson trade.

Pierre Luc Dubois?
So, some rumours floating about that Winnipeg is now open to discussing a trade for Pierre Luc Dubois.
Is there something we should know? Based on his Columbus stay, are there stories about on or off-ice issues? |

Seems more of a money issue concerning Winnipeg, as for the fiasco with the Cbj, no one outside the organisation seems to have the correct facts surrounding his departure, I would think it has something to do with Torts railing him and Jarmo lowballing his contract. |

So, if you are rebuilding team like the Sens would you offer up the #7 pick overall and another prospect. Would you be open to signing him to a long term deal in the $7m + range?

Ottawa has Norris and Stutzle at center, seems redundant to bring in PLD. The real problem is goaltending and Chabot seems like a one man show on the backend.

Different situations, completely. Difference in direction over the long term plan helped ease PLD out of CBJ. In Winnipeg, seems to a culture. |

I recall hearing about undercurrents of locker-room issues being a reason Laine wanted out when the PLD trade was done. Seems Wheeler rules that locker-room, and it's a dictatorship. If he doesn't like you, and he didn't like Laine, you were on the wrong side of the tracks.
Could the same thing be happening with PLD ??
Jarmo should give Boqvist at least a 2-yr contract. Boqvist has to change his uni # (27). It still has some Ryan Murray injury mojo . |
