Hey Wilson no stories on how terrible J.Johnson is. Played 20 and 22 minutes vs your Pens a plus in both games. Let me let you continue with your percentages and stat sheet b.s. . Figured you would have something to say about your favorite whipping boy who sucks so bad he is playing good minutes for NHL’s top team.
1000+ games. You really are good at what you do !!!! |

He was very good at neutralizing the forwards. Problem is they were on his team. |

pens play the way they have been and they will be making a first round exit once again. |

It didn't really matter how well JJ played or not, that contract was atrocious and that was it for most folks. If he were signed for the 750K he is with Colorado, doubt there would have been as much complaining. Not to mention that he didn't fit the Pens system at all. |

Yeah only making 750k would of lessened the sting of neutering Geno's line on a nightly basis, no doubt. |

As much as I hate to say it, this Pens team once again has the look of another 1st round exit. |

Pens won't get anywhere if they don't get some depth scoring. Pens had some great chances by the depth guys, but nothing got buried. Once again, way too many shot chances were passed off looking for something better.
Also, two of the 4 lines last night were noticeably a step slower than the Avs. The Boyle line had no business playing in that game. It was almost painful watching Boyle and Angello trying to keep up. I kept seeing MacKinnon out there against them. |

Seems like Sully was OK with that matchup. Insanity. Nate could lap Boyle.
I've never seen Angello so invisible. He usually hits and mucks it up. If we're gonna play Boyle we can't have another slow gentle giant on the wing. That goes for Z too. |

I like the idea of sticking to Carter as our 3rd line C. Blueger has to play with McGinn and perhaps Kapanen or Rodrigues.

Rest Boyle and insert him whenever Carter or whoever feel tired. |

The Pens have a big group of players in the bottom 6 who are all about equal. I am hoping Sully is just testing guys by putting them in tough situations and seeing how they handle it to determine who should be in the playoff lineup.
I like Boyle, but I'd like to see them sit him down a bit. They need energy and speed in the lineup. The Pens aren't playing with quite the same fire they did when their backs were against the wall early in the year. If we are getting a matchup with the Rangers, I don't even care if we have home ice advantage. Im sure Geno and Sid would love to light them up in MSG just as much as PPG.
Lets get everyone healthy and figure out who the starting 12 will be. I'd also like to see Jarry get some rest. He has played a ton this year and we can't have another blowup from him like last year. |

I think with the addition of rakell we’re only a trade or two away from being somewhat competitive. Too bad they are just figuring this out now. |

The fact that we didn't try to move Kapenan for a competent top 6 guy was a bad move. That and banking that Zucker would ever be healthy. Rakell has looked good, and plays the right way but Geno needs help on his RW like crazy. Carter ain't lookin like it. Kap ain't it. Erod ain't it. Shoulda tried to flip Zucker and Kapenan to VAN for Boeser and ran Rakell-Geno-Boeser lol

Sounds like Zucker is taking regular line rushes and practicing with PP 2 and looks like he's fine.
Good news, I thought he was done for the year when it happened. |

I think the Vancouver trade could still be in play this offseason. They don't need LD so any idea that we could flip Petterson over for him should be dead in the water, but if Rutherford is deadset on not giving Boeser his next contract maybe he can see Zucker as a low-risk expiring second line forward that can take his place in the lineup short term and Kapanen as an enticing buy low guy with upside that can maybe pay off for Van. Then we just unload our picks.
With Rakell showing some two way acumen and net driving that I didn't know he had, a Rakell-Geno-Boeser line could look pretty good and not be a total liability.
We don't really have a third line at that point, but I think you can go into the season with Blueger as the piece you build around and try to see if anyone sticks with him and address at the deadline after you know what you have with guys like DOC, Puustinen, and Nylander. |

Are cap/CBA implications the reason we are getting Angello over DOC? |

Hurt me ? Just like to point out how dumb you know it all stats guys are. If he is so bad how could he play over 1000 NHL games and now be a regular on #1 team ?
The point about his salary makes no sense. The coach is playing him 20 minutes because of what he is getting paid ? Wilson and most of the corsi , all stats guys always think their so smart saying who should play, who sucks etc but it never blends with reality. Obviously hockey decision makers don’t go by the fantasy stat line. Guess their not progressive thinkers. You know like all the new progressive gm’s and coaches that keep getting hired. Know how important punctuation is here, hope I didn’t make any mistakes 😄😄

It's fvcking hilarious that you think stats do not blend with reality.
..and most GM's have hired stats guys/gals...but that probably doesn't fit with the narrative of your reality, does it?
Will you come back when JJ is benched and/or scratched in the playoffs?
