Let's not forget how much DJ hates Colin White. In his morning presser yesterday, he said how the Sens will be fine next season with Norris/Stutzle/Pinto down the middle. Pinto has played 17 NHL games. Not one mention of White, interesting! White was thrown under the bus by the coach in his first game back in the postgame presser too as we all talked about in the comment section a few weeks ago. Some of the players went to the coach when they were told about it. White is absolutely loved in that locker room. Then DJ tried to go out of his way the next game in his presser, bringing up White.....hmmm.....calculated a little.

DJ made him a healthy scratch for the first 6 games last year as he felt Anisimov and Paquette were better options! More great coaching decisions. This after White came into camp in the best shape he's ever been in too!

It is always the same in the old western movie. Te crowd gets a rope and everyone gets excited for a lynching. Does anybody really believe that a change of coach or GM, at this time, will make any difference other than satisfying the blood thirst of the mob?

Common sense tells you changes are coming. And, at this point, a change is probably good for everyone. In last night's game it is clear that the team has lost its will to fight and the compete level is now astonishingly low.

Team is suffering from inferior goaltending and there are too many passengers. Nobody is following through on their checks and the team as a whole has lost its snarl.

I like this team a lot. It is far closer than folks might think they are. If the idea here is to fire the GM and start making deals to immediately try and improve the team...count me out. Patience. The answer is written in the wind.

The players have given up on the season. There is no must win belief for anyone on this team and that is the way it always works when 1/3 of your team goes into each game wondering what will happen to them on trade deadline day.

White does not fit. Next year Sens will have a $23m cap hit from Chabot, Tkachuk and Norris. Nick Paul is due this week. Zub, Connor Brown, Stutzle and Pinto next summer. Sanderson just two summers away from today. And, the Sens still don't have an NHL goalie.

It makes 0 sense at this point to retain White. The Sens need to become competitive before they hit the salary cap crunch just 24 months from now.

When all this team has done on this current homestand is chase the opposition and I mean literally chase the puck, you have no system, no coaching going on. That Chicago game in the last 2 periods was delayed reaction on every pass or shot attempt. It was truly a trainwreck on the ice. This comes from an outsider that can't comprehend how a team quits the way Ottawa has lately. In talking to a Habs fan, they said what's going on in Ottawa right now is exactly what happened in Montreal right before they fired Ducharme. Management couldn't handle watching the team look so defeated before puck drop. This team has lost its will. Watching them back in late January til now, you see how little drive they have. Confidence shattered. But as Kevin said in this piece and many others, you can only lose so much. All Chabot has known with this team for 5 years is losing. I'm sure this injury will allow him to take a step back and see how bad it really is.

Players have complained to DJ, and to Dorion, if they complained to Melnyk, their next step is to demand they be traded.

With the way management and coaches treats the players it is only a mater of time before the players want out.

what freaking coach sends their best Def Dman to the penalty box to serve a delay of game penalty by their G.....a coach who should not be coaching at any level....

As for Sanderson...you all expect him to sign after the NCAA is over, do not be surprised or angry with him if he chooses to finish his last 2 years in NCAA then hit UFA, Blame Dorion, DJ and melnyk for having such a bad playing environment on the team

Far closer to what? 1st pick overall ?
Perhaps this magical burn to the ground and rebuild for unparrelled success is not working. (Why?) . There was no guarantees. Quite possibly the wrong approach.

It is time for Dorion to exit and Smith close behind.

If Dorion was to get fired.

Does anyone think he would land another gm position in the league ever again?

I believe that changing the coach and GM would have a huge positive impact on the team. Not only has the coach produced terrible results with a middle of the road roster but players are now checking out. An immediate coaching change is needed.

My preference would be Trent Mann from Belleville on an interim basis.

Dont worry, at the Sens current pace and trajectory. We will have exciting trade deadlines for ever. With the Sens always in the talk of what players they are getting rid of.

Does Melnyk want to pay for two head coaches since they just resigned Smith to an extension?.
IMO, I don't think he will. So this mean Smith stays for the foreseeable future.
If the players have quit on Smith then he should not return next year.
Melnyk will need to anti up for two head coaches with one of them eating popcorn from his home.

A lot of you on here know I watch a huge amount of hockey each night, in fact, I PVR some of them and watch them once the late night games end, just fast forwarding through parts. The biggest take away I have from the Sens is the same mistakes are being made and not just by the targets of the fanbase on here. So is the system not working to have the same mistakes occurring? Probably. By then the next question should be, why are the same mistakes happening? What coaching is going on in the video room or on the ice at practice for the same mistakes to keep happening. Even your goalie Forsberg looks tired of the same mistakes. His body language after a few goals lately says he's tried of it. Some of this stuff is hockey sense or stuff you just don't do over and over at the minor hockey level as its coached to stop the same mistakes from happening over and over.

If the team was going to do this, it should've happened after the All-Star break. Now I think you just ride out the mess and hope for a high pick. Or maybe am I wrong?

If Nick Paul can land anywhere near the package Calle Jarnkrok got, I say pack your bags. That's almost Dzingel to Columbus overpay level. Love this time of year.

No point in firing bozo now. They'll just do what the habs are doing and get further from Shayne Wright. He's not a generational talent but he's really damn good.

Fire Smith in the offseason. I'm just about done with Dorion too.

The Josh Brown thing and doing everything he can to make sure Brannstrom fails is...just looking comically stubborn now. Like Art Howe not starting Hatteburg. Like....that exact scene from Money Ball is playing out here with J.Brown. The sad part is for the player....he must hear it and know it. I guess the difference in the analogy is that Pena was actually good. But Brown isn't. He'd pass through waivers and be sent to Bellville.

Keep losing at this point. Better lottery chance. Season is lost. Has been for a while.

Honestly, why are you so surprised. 🀣😭😭
My favourite part is how all these trolls echo the same sentiments each blog.
Don’t forget the signature exclamation mark either πŸ€£πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Edit:
He’s in the Columbus thread complimenting their record as a byproduct of good coaching, meanwhile, complaining about the coaching in Ottawa.
I can’t even believe this is real 🀣🀣

Me.
I've been bullish on the player for a while.
And I think he would have been captain material.
Another set-up-to-fail coaching scenario by this coach.

Chris Kelly has been outstanding in Boston. Luke Richardson is loved in Montreal for what he has done with that defense.
