I thought they deserved a better fate overall. I really did not like the lines going in and they just made no sense to me at all. I don't think we really played our best out there. I also agree on the structure too. We seem to be relying more on the talent and abilities of the players themselves on the fly as opposed to having a set game plan to play to.
That said recent changes to the powerplay are clearly working so they seem to at least have fixed and gotten that right!
Oilers will be tough to beat and we definitely are going to need beast mode Gru not soft serve here are a freebie or two in net tonight to have a chance. It's going to be a hell of a time shutting down the Oil offence. That said I like our d and goaltending better, well long as we get Gru from before and not last game.
We've been riding a very good streak right now overall. Just want to see it continue. |

Oh boy
Here we go
And Donato with a nice chance early. |
Gourded!!!!
1-0 out of the gate!!! Donato to Gourde what a shot!!!t |
Bad interference penalty and Drai on the PP ties it up. No chance for Gru.
Damn that was fast.
And it has given Oulers a jump and some energy too. Getting some big chances. |
Larsson!!! Revenge of the ex Oiler after the Donskoi spinorama hard work!!
Great short side 2nd of the season there!
2-1 Kraken retake the lead. |
Gru with a hige save followed by a bit of a weak slash call and Oil back on the PP.
Just got to kill this and end the 1st here. And damn but stay outta the box!!
Nuge trips down Donskoi. Bye bye powerplay!!
So far can't say it was a bad opening 20 minutes here for the Kraken. They gave up a few chances but Gru looks steady and focused and other than the need to stay the hell out of the box and NOT give the league's #1 powerplay more chances here. |
Great pressure right there and forced Edmonton into a bad crosscheck there. Big chance for Kraken to build on that zone time and build up the lead here.
Very solid PP chances and Kraken really were great on retrieving pucks there. Have to give Oil credit though dropping down to be able to break up and block some of the chances there. |
Ah damn....
2-2 and that one just seems to hit Dunn and honestly Gru looked a bit off on that one there too. Bad goal on a hard Bouchard point shot. Man and all that momentum just couldn't get that 3-1 lead at all. |
WHAT A GOAL!!!!
BLACKWELL!!! Split the d and drive in and gets it on the backhand lifting it up and in!!! 3-2 Kraken back in charge again!
HUGE goal and man has he been stellar since coming back and getting into the games. |
Wennberg!!! Off the pad of Skinner and right there and it's 4-2!!!!
Damn. 1:46 left and just bad penalty tripping up McDavid there and Wennberg goes to the box. Another Oil PP and late period here.
Solid 40 in the books here. Kraken really dominating in the Oiler end and winning the board battles for the puck. Have to be careful with the threats up front the Oil have though. Not out of the woods yet by any means but if they can weather the rest of the PP and then keep getting the chances and offensive zone time they should be able to win this one here. |
Oilers pushing hard here closing in midway of 3rd. Kraken managing to limit the chances and when Oil get em Gru has been standing tall here. Need to get back on pushing and controlling play down in the Oil end again but grinding down the clock here so far so good. |
Lind got dropped hard right there. Not sure I agree with it puck was playing in there but he didn't make any effort at the puck just hammered the kid down there.
Kraken with the PP out of it but its an ugly start to it. Finally got organized but its just chewing time keeping Seattle outside and easy shots for Skinner to deal with
OH MAN!!! Geekie ROBBED right out in front by Skinner. HUGE stop there.
And right after Kraken got sloppy in their own zone and McDavid with the tip through Gru's legs and in. 4-3 and we got a game once more. |
Someone put a damn bungee cord on Gru and keep him in the net and from playing the puck! All game same thing, stops, holds it, then gives it to the d once they are under pressure and its ending up causing turnovers and problems. Just stay in the damn net.
Edmonton has the momentum here. Gru stole that easy tap in and is coming up big. |
5:20 to go Oilers called for taking down Dunn. Kraken back on the PP.
Just a stupid penalty really.
Couple chances but Oil got the best one coming off the PK. One time shot ends up springing Edmonton out. Gru stopping it helped there. |
2:33 left. Nail biting time
Goalie out and Larsson bad roughing penalty.
Oh man
Holy hell!!!! What a HUGE effort keeping it out and hanging on to wn!!! |

Thanks should be an interesting one. Wild are a pretty heavy team like to cycle. They were an interesting opponent vs the Kraken really. Its going to be fun seeing how they both fare vs one another.
