COVID, I'd want to be careful to say here, just seems like it's everywhere right now again.
Why did z wisdom get sent back to juniors and not the phantoms? |

Consistently poor D zone coverage and confusion on rotations off of overload
Consistent poor forecheck structure and poor F3 positioning
Consistent poor breakout structure and putting pucks into 50/50 battles.
Consistent lack of a neutral zone forecheck and creating transition offense
Consistently poor line changes leading to scoring chances against
Consistently giving the puck away purposely and losing possession.
Consistent failure to back check and skate hard to the net.
None of this is fully solved by the addition of or caused by the injuries to Hayes and Ellis.

I’m glad he addressed, publicly, the fact that they stink. We all know he’s not going to say anything of substance, but it’s still significant that he had a press conference about it. When I worked for large companies and they called a company wide meeting to address rumors of poor earnings or layoffs or something like that and would assure us that all was well you knew some poop was going to go down soon. I feel like this press conference is similar to that. It should put coaches and players on alert. |

I personally can deal without the PR. Which is basically what it was. I didn't expect him to tell the truth, which is that management screwed up.

It’s all bull. Just like the corporate bull you get when you work for a large company. Still, it’s a positive thing, I think, that they addressed it publicly. |

Being realistic, this team has no depth that would allow them to overcome the losses of Hayes, Ellis, and Brassard. Even with them they are a playoff bubble team at best in the Metro. If they had at least some success during the past decade I could deal with it, even enjoy as they rebuild...cause there is some fun in that. Problem is as I've said so often they haven't been relevant for a very long time. One has to look at the top of the food chain here. Ownership is a corporate entity that looks at the team as a cat would a stuffed mousey. Not anything more than a toy. Ed Snider lost his mojo after the cap was instituted, but at least he really cared. This continues to be a hollow shell of what was. We are a mockery, I want them to stop peeing on my leg and telling me it's raining. Sell the team to someone who actually gives a crap! |

I don't buy this idea that Comcast doesn't give a crap. The Flyers attendance average has been pretty consistent. The only real significant drop was a few years ago and that was due to Covid. They fired Hextall and said that they want to be a cap team and they want to win. So it's not as if they aren't paying what they can pay to players. I don't at all doubt that they want to win. They're just misguided in how they're going about it. |

Sure at first you can think about past cups but soon enough you will realize how irrelevant they are. Enjoy Hexy as a GM.

The money is a minor consideration to that company. Its gone on too long.

If making better decisions and wanting to win were truly linked then everyone would make better decisions. That's just not how it works. In fact currently, I believe wanting to win is what has actually led them astray.

This is hogwash! I didn't read the transcript cause it's not worth my time. In a nutshell it sounds as if he is blaming injuries for their issues. You actually scheduled a presser for this?? WTF!! The coaches worked all day yesterday?? Wow!! I thought they'd be on a golf course drinking martinis! I also disagree that they played well the first 10 games. They were still getting outplayed most of the games(aside from the Kraken and Caps games), but the goalies were playing other worldly. What a mess!! |
