It's funny how some haters want to cap dump JTM and Schmidt. The players received from that 2020 draft trade-off. It is sad Canucks whiffed on TT or it would have been a trifecta NHL impact player gain.

He's a beast of a player but not known as a scoring machine. So you'll hear the 3rd liner slants. Even if he plays with JTM as his center.

We'll have to wait a few years for his Leadership presence to assert itself. But he could be the assist leader if lined up with finishers. Though, whoever he plays with, good bet he leads the Canucks in hits next season.

I like this group of players, Benning is putting together a good mix of talent to really challenge for not only a playoff spot but win a few rounds.

Podkolzin may need a bit of time to adjust to the small rink size, but kid will be a force, another shrewd Benning move.

It feels good to be a Canucks fan.

He's coached him and that was him talking freely , not prompted or ask for a comparison.
People have to realize that his KHL team and coach did everything to hold him back and force him into staying in the KHL.
A top prospect benched, scratched, ice time limited , played like a 4th line goon .
He was held back all season , yet through all that , never whined, and played hard every minute he got.
I am so excited to see him get here.

Probably sometimes, but I’ve come to the realization that the professionals working in hockey are running teams for a reason while we’re here commenting. I don’t think anyone here is better at running a team that Benning is or even Gillis was.
