can you do a blog on young players/prospects growth under coach dummy.
since we are being told by the team he's the only reason hes behind the bench for all these lost seasons...

also, i think yzerman would be crazy for bringing coach dummy back..

Ok. I’ll make it a bit interactive though. The best growth in a single player I’ve seen this year is Zadina. He is skating his rear end off.

I think the coaching change is a 2 part issue. Economics is a big part. Blash is one of the lowest paid coaches in the league.

The other is roster. Yzerman is doing a ton of subtraction still. When that changes and it’s all development and growth, I think we’ll see who the GM has in mind. Just my thoughts

The last time I saw bullets rain down like last night I was in the Karbala Gap!!! Holy cow, Bernie needs Hazardous Duty pay 😳

Ok, so Cholo snipe’d a sweet shot. The thing that bothers me, and has for the season is the way the D lets so many avenues open to the opposition enabling them to bring the pain. They need to close those gaps. A huge hole in the D plan. That needs to be fixed.

The fact that the Wings forced Dallas to OT is a testament to how well Bernie played. The score could’ve easily reached double digits. Thanks be to Gordie that Bernie was on fore last night....

Completely agree. I’m impressed by how much Marc Staal is doing, and I hope the young guys are watching. Hronek probably still feels bad about that turnover in OT. We sorely need some left side D that can defend. Cholo is supposed to be an offensive d man, fine. Just pair him with someone who will back him up. Seider will be a blessing, but I wouldn’t mind bringing in some left side help

Could do Goligoski or Hjalmarsson on a 2yr $3M deal for a stop gap defensive D man and both can play either side.

Hjalmarrson, I think they called him “the hammer” in Chicago. That was one guy I loved in his prime. I wouldn’t mind that at all. I loved that drop H2, nicely done

According to the fancystats crowd, there's a pretty good argument that Hjalmarsson in his prime was likely the flat-out best defensive player in the NHL. Didn't have the offense to match, obviously, but if you needed someone to help you keep pucks out of your own net you really couldn't do any better.

I have no idea if his defensive game is anywhere close to what it used to be, but I imagine he'd still be a huge upgrade over Marc Staal.

I don't think the Hawks would want him back, and who knows if he would prefer to go elsewhere, but I thick there will be several teams interested in their his services.
