Rather give Chytil a shot at the top line if Zib can't go. Howden is more of a 3rd line center. Chytil has way more skill.

As far as Zib, who knows. Can't imagine its anything serious or we would have heard about it.

Like, I really want to agree with this. The fact Chytil is so god awful on faceoffs would be a huge concern to me and a reason I'd consider looking from outside the org if Zib's absence was prolonged.

2sticks, your concern is definitely well-founded.
But, I wonder if this f'ed up season might not be the perfect time to give him a baptism by fire? Give him the chance (for a while) to get in there and take 15-20 draws a night 3-4 times a week and we will find out whether he is going to cut it or not.

Was going to post that. Don't see it happening.
We are going to suck on faceoffs this season.

I checked out the site Brooks got his stats from.
I am by no means downplaying the importance of faceoffs, or saying that we shouldn't be concerned with our lack of prowess in that regard.
However, a 50% showing on faceoffs puts you in the middle of the league (as opposed to our 30th). For us to get to that measure would take another 1.9 faceoff wins per game. That is hardly in the realm of impossible.
Let's hope that they are putting a focus on it in training and give our guys a chance to improve. We don't need to rebuild the roster to center around this issue.

My hope is that he worked on that during the off season. He really needs to improve if he is going to stay.

As much as I loved Boyle in his stints here, he isn't the answer for the future. Rather assess after this season.
