Odd’s roster is deeper, especially on D and stronger in goal, but Mario is Mario and, in his prime, could win games by himself. Have to go with team Even.

Despite the insane firepower that even possesses, I gotta go odd. Their defensive depth makes up for it.

Adding Ron Duguay (#10 or #44) would have put team even over the top.

Two of the biggest chokers in goal MAF and Barrasso. Mario would have a field day with them. Markie and Tommy both would be embarrassed

Unless team even traded for Marty b I don’t think morozov should’ve been included.

There are only so many good players on a team that entered the NHL late and was absolute dogpoop for like its first 20 years. Any forward that constantly scored 35+ points probably qualifies for an honorable mention.

Loved Straka. Dave Burrows deserves to be in over Nisky and Hatcher. Certainly over Schultz.

Way back when he played for the Pens, my sister misdialed a friends number and got Marty on the phone. She didn’t know who he was. He explained to her that he was a Penguin and she said he wouldn’t let her off the phone. She wound up hanging up on him!!! Hahahaha

Pierre LaRouche (10) played with Rick Kehoe. Robert Lange isn't half the player LaRouche was.

Lemieux-Francis-LaRouche-Apps. Not a bad group of centers.

I didnt see Stackhouse play, Im too young. I cant imagine leaving ULF Samuelsson off this list whether it was for Stackhouse or Kaspar. Thats basically the only thing Id disagree with on your choices.
Luc Robitaille played here too but nothing Earth Shattering in that season.

What would you pay to see that 7 game series? Wow.

Odd has a deeper roster overall than Even, but I would NEVER bet against 66. And I cant imagine the number of ways Mario would find to torture MAF.

Wouldnt a Penalty Shot of 66 vs 29 be exciting to watch? How would Mario deal with the inevitable poke check? Imagine if you could do an Olympic Style shootout between those two?

Team even would win this easily if they had someone better than Ryan Wilson picking the team. Have Badger Bob pick the team and they win this. For example Wilson's defense picks are terrible for the even team.

Burrows-Zubov
Dumoulin-Letang
Orpik-Hatcher

This is much better defense than the crap Wilson put out. In most rankings I have seen have Burrows rated higher than Dumoulin and even Orpik is rated higher than Dumoulin in several. The point is those are my 3 LD who are all defensive defenseman to compliment the RD who all offensive defenseman. All 3 of those LD are in the Hockey Writers top 10 all time best Penguins defenseman list (10th Dumoulin, 8th Burrows, 7th Orpik).

Also the forward lines I would change up and put Jagr with Francis. Mario would kick butt with either one of his real linemates on his RW either Recchi or Tocchet. For his LW you have plenty of choices with one being Robitaille who was left off Wilson's lineup.

Both teams are great but a line with Mario Prime and a second line of Francis with Jagr would dominate this game. I would make several forward changes but wasn't as terrible as Wilson's defenseman choices. In what world does Schultz make this list?

Two Players that probably deserved mention if not a 4th line spot
#21 Michel Briere --I wish I had been able to watch him play live, but I heard he was really good....

#22 Mike Bullard... One of the best players this team had in the dreaded 80's years often with no help. He scored 51 G and 92 pts on the 83-84 team, no small feat given how awful that team was.

EK saying the Pens have HUGE interest Haula, but have to make one more deal to make it happen. I don't doubt the Pens have huge interest, but this is all wishful thinking. I'd imagine either Sceviour or Riikola would have to leave and I really hope it's not Riikola, but he's probably the more movable.

I wouldn't care if Riikola was traded. I have faith in POJ as the backup LD when an injury occurs. Don't get me wrong it is nice to have 5 LD you trust but if having 4 gets you an upgrade at 3C count me in.

I thought of Mike Bullard also. That team was Bullard and Carlisle.
