Funny guy. So when was your last Stanley Cup win? - airjan23
Me? I've never won one.
If you mean the Flyers, 1975. I thought you'd know that. I know the Rags' drought is only at 25 years (so much more recent) after going 54 years before that, with half of that drought spent in a 6-team league. So yeah, let's play that game.
Also, to be more relevant, the Flyers have a fantastic track record of recent UFA signings, including Lecavalier and Bryzgalov. So yeah, the Flyers not exactly teflon.
Edit: Saw this before jimbro's post. But yeah, Flyers aren't exactly sin free when it comes to trades and FAs.

so what you're saying is that Drury, Gomez, Bryzgalov and Lecavalier have absolutely nothing to do with this conversation

Of course I know it was 1975. Also know you didn’t win it, your team for which you have a rooting interest did. Was providing snark for snark. Also, most of us felt that Gomez and Drury were overpayments at the time based on their prior production. Slightly different for Seguin and Panarin, but they also could end up big $ busts.

Hey, the Gomez and Drury signings were good moves at the time. Gomez was a good producer playing for a barren team, and Drury was the co-captain of a team that had won back-to-back division titles. For whatever reason, they just didn't work out in NY.

Well, except for that fact that Drury and Gomez were 2 big-name UFAs that NYR acquired in the same offseason, much like Panarin and Seguin could be, yes, nothing at all.

C'mon Jan. You should Philadelphia sports fans can rationally remove themselves from their rooting interests.

But Seguin could be traded. But Panarin could be traded. But Panarin could re-sign with Columbus. But Seguin could re-sign with Dallas.

stick with the thought that no signing that any team did 10 years ago has ANYTHING to do with how a signing in 2019 would work out
