How about Brandon Sutter?
He's the kind of guy you win Championships with, Like Patrice Bergeron

The green men would be perfect as the new voices for the franchise. |

I think we could use a few more forwards. Schaller is already injured and a few more of our cream puff forwards will be on the IR before the start of the season. We need more center and LW depth |

Did I miss any other "prospects"? I don't really count McEnamy, Sautner as prospects anymore. One or less season of AHL hockey and no Goldy, Motte have played almost an entire NHL season now.
Feel free to make a change or two, highlight changes in bold.

Thanks Carol, great stuff. Leadership is definetely a concern going forward. I’d like to think it will be Bo and agree they’ve tried to surround him with more pros and a different tone on the ice. |

The love and expectation for Palmu on this board is laughable. If he plays 1 NHL game his career is a success. |

If a concern its the who & thats further down the road. In 2-3yrs is when its needed to be rooted in place. Currently its TG & how he wants his team to play that goes a long ways. Its more of a question is it quiet leadership by example or the big voice? We are a quiet type of team that can use someone upfront doing the interviews that will be more needed. Who is that?
Saying Bo is a popular vote here I’m not for popularity. The Captain is a one time to get it right & i don’t see an obvious choice. I predict 3 alternates. |

We need playmakers. I look to C for that.
Injuries happen & wing is fine. D scoring is still a big abyss. |

I don't see this expectation you speak of. Its only a current list nothing more. Developing is too difficult to predict but he has as much of a chance that any on there have. Intangibles & the steps players take is yet to be seen. Players like Lind Palmu Gads look ok but lots of work to do & many unheralded players have made it. Gaudreau |

Looking at our roster & prospects i look for 40+ apples as a guideline.
EP looks to fit that bill but idk who else.
Saying we need 3-4 with that capability would define playmaker for me. Hughes looks like a possibility one day. Bo could be another & that would be taking his game to the next level. 30/30 players are my next want BB & nothing else i can see. On D a 50+ pointer that we don’t have now. Add a couple 40 pointers on D.
50+ apples is a superstar
The goals would follow |

Carol Schram: New voices will need to lead in Vancouver Canucks locker room in 2018-19
Jay Beagle and Antoine Roussel will get their chance to have their voices heard when they step into a Vancouver Canucks locker room without Daniel and Henrik Sedin this fall. - Carol Schram
Great blog Carol,
Personally I'm looking forward to a culture change with the Canucks, I think the passive approach by Henrik became a detrimental aspect that surrounded the team. I would like to see a little more push back by all players.
If it has to start with the new players brought in, well, I for one will be glad Benning overpaid for them. If they have the turn the other cheek mentality, I'll join the Benning bashing crowd.

I went from liking JB & giving him the time to remake the roster to now its lets start to see what the noobs can do. On D i still have big issues & next season or 2019 i want big results. That being us back on the map & the league takes notice.

This season if the team doesn't back down from any challenges or cheap shot antics I'll revise my prediction that they finish bottom 10, if they still back down bottom 3-5 place finish.
I'm with you it's time to start showing some promise and next season bigger strides to a playoff bubble team |
