Justin Lowe: My 2018 Blackhawks All-Star Team
Keeping with that All-Star theme, here are my selections foe the 2018 Blackhawks All-Star team at this point.
(Note: I know the format has changed and this is not who I would send to compete but rather the most important Hawks this season by C, LW, RW, D, D, G positions) |

Wouldn't surprise me to see the Penguins trade for Kempny, he plays so much like Daley |
|
|
|
Leddy is like Kempny and Daley. Q would have him watching from the press box half the season |

kane is not going anywhere, he sells tickets and is a generational talent. But the idea of fleecing someone at the deadline on a huge package for keith becomes more enticing every day |

I cannot argue any of Justin's picks, but I will give out props/honorable mentions to Hino and Hartman any ANYBODY I see working hard on the backcheck/takeaway game. No one can replace Hossa, but if they ALL work their tails off on the backcheck, only good things will come in future Blackhawks endeavors. |

Anyone on the Rangers attractive? Not that we want to be buyers, but strategic buying might be warranted.

IF healthy from blood clot issues, a Top 6 LW combo of Kreider and Saad would be imposing physically and in terms of speed. |

Desharnais or Zuccarello would be great pick-ups. - DarthKane

Don't think they are the best trade partners for each other as NYR is looking for young players and picks.
Hawks aren't giving those up. |

Sure, I can see him as a fit there.
What if GMJR put such a priority on finding that 3C for a playoff that they asked for Anisimov and AA agreed to waive his NTC for Pitt.
Would you do:
CHI: Anisimov, Kempny
for
PIT: Olli Maatta, Bryan Rust |

Hartman for Skjei? - DarthKane
Those are the type of trades the Hawks are looking for... and yes, I would do that. I don't think NYR would. |

That's an overpay for Skej IMO. Forsling and Hartman will both play big minutes throughout the course of their NHL careers. Hartman as a middle 6 winger and Forsling as a Top 4 D. |

I love Skej but I think Hartman is having a sophmore slump season. Last year he was an impact player both scoring goals, playing physical, and being a pest. I'm not sure if he's been injured, or just lacking confidence, but I don't want to sell low on Hartman. IMO, you could get a young Dman who maybe is not as established as Skej but has similar upside straight up for Hartman. Though, that trade you proposed is likely closer to what NYR would demand to give up Skej. |

1st rounder + VERY High end prospect at minimum. He is 34 and signed until he's 40 which is a factor. |

While I like Kreider as well, there's NO WAY you can take Debrincat off LW. That is where he'll score 20 to 30 a year regardless of his size. Q has screwed that up for most of the year playing him at RW......that's typical Quenneville.
Play your players to THEIR strengths, not to where the deficiencies are.....ie also Hjalmarsson for years, now Oesterle on his wrong side, Murphy at times, etc. Yet everybody biches at our pourous D.
I'm still blaming Quenneville on this year's miss of the playoffs, if that is the end result. I don't care if he's a Hall of Fame coach or not, it's his team and his responsibility to put the pieces in place to win....PERIOD.

You do not trade Hartman unless it is a very special trade. Q really hasn’t let Hartman play - he’s been moved around and sat out over mis-steps. He has the ability to be a real good, tough, scoring forward. Former no. 1. |
