Thank you Carol!

thanks for the update on the veteran rule. So essentially, if the Canucks are completely healthy, 3 veteran players will need to sit out at each Utica game. Potentially 4 when Gaunce is back on the Canucks?

I believe so, but I assume they'll make some moves to get this a bit more manageable. I think Hamilton's injured but I'm not sure about his opening-night status. That could be one...

Wouldn't be safe to assume that most teams are dealing with this 5 player veteran cap on their AHL team as well though? Doesn't this leave little opportunity for trade if most teams are battling the same situation?

Lending out to other AHL teams or to Europe is possible.
The problem is only who is needed for NHL depth & needed for Utica in the long run. Many players in the past have faced this issue & move on.

"Palmu has performed ok. He has a lot of potential. His strength is speed and going into the hard areas"

"he is still playing too much of a junior-style game. We are on him every day and he will learn"

Salo on Juolevi " you have to be patience. I am going to try and teach him to be patient and put in the time for development"

more on Juolevi "our strength coach will be on him, I am confident that he has the right attitude to get better and stronger"

I wonder how many of these vets might fix the issue themselves by requesting a release and/or loan to a European team. I am sure none want to be sitting games, though Sifers 700 games might be cool with it

I saw a tweet saying Weiroch would either be loaned to the Marlies or the OTT AHL team to make space, but it wasn't from someone who was credible so I didn't repost.

He'd get triggered knowing the Canucks are helping Toronto in any way.

Summed up by CA like this:

"This is a major problem. What this means is that only five of Patrick Wiercioch, Anton Rodin, Darren Archibald, Michael Chaput, Jayson Megna, Carter Bancks, Wacey Hamilton, and Jaime Sifers will be able to play on any given night. And only four of them will be able to play if you want to also play both Reid Boucher and Philip Holm."

I am assuming that Holm and Boucher get development status preference to play.

Rodin, Chaput, Megna figure to be in top six. Wiercoch to recover confidence needs to play and would be top pairing.

So the need to sit out 4 vets puts Comet leaders like DA & Bancks in crosshairs.

Logjam will force moves. Does VGK have room on their AHL affiliate?

I’m assuming you are referencing Archibald, I’m not sure why you keep worrying about his status. If he is good enough to be included with the other veterans on the Comets he will be included in the rotation.

If they deem that Archibald is not talented enough or not in their plans then he will be traded, loaned out or sent to to Kalamazoo.

Archibald is not a guy to get worked up on, if he works out 👍 if he doesn’t 👋

Cull on Demko "we have a plan, but we have to make sure we are playing Thatcher enough. There another good goalie in Bachman"

Cull on Subban " We are working on his defending. We want to use his speed and puck sense to our strengths"

Cull on Holm " he moves the puck so well and he a very smart hockey player. I really think he will play games in the NHL"

Cull on Travis Green " We are pretty much bang on with how we see the game and what we want out of our team. We are very much alike"

Great, two AHL coaches that are on the same wave length. Should be great for a top 3 finish...
