Carol Schram: Alex Edler solid in return as Vancouver Canucks hang on to beat L.A. Kings Ryan Miller was strong and Alex Edler played well in his return from injury as the Vancouver Canucks beat the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 on Wednesday night at Rogers Arena.

Tanev and Edler back, less than 2 goals against... coincidence?

Is this going to be a thing and wear off, like you are a good poster?

So CS and Makita makes it 2 adults on HB.

(I'm starting to appreciate your presence and approach to reffing more and more)

That was a fun 1st half of the game. Then it was a bit less inspiring. Still, a win is a win whether you look like the weaker team or not. We've had plenty of game where we had to chase and came up short.

Well, it shows well when your goalie steals one for you.

Good for Miller!

Having a lead, entering the third period, ask yourself, "what is the worst that can happen?"

grab a big drink and hold on.

Thanks Carol!

I really enjoyed the play of Tree. I thought he did a great job clearing bodies from our net and the hit on Brown was solid.

You are right about the "untapped offence" the 2nd PP possesses! I really liked Bo's performance on the PP. He seemed to see the ice well and had a few good shots on net.

All in all, the first period was very entertaining as the Canucks looked very hungry and energized. I hope they keep the momentum going for the Ducks.

I have a question about the expansion draft, I am wondering if someone knows the answer.

OK - so we are exposing Bachman as our goalie, lets say that he were to get seriously injured. Would we would have to find another goalie to expose? (Seeing Matt Murray getting injured in Pittsburgh, got me to thinking).

Good question. I would have to guess that LV could select an injured player if they want. Buyer beware.

Otherwise I would imagine a few quality players might find themselves "injured" before the expansion draft

I think you are right for the most part.

Players with potential career-ending injuries who have missed more than the previous 60 consecutive games (or who otherwise have been confirmed to have a career-threatening injury) may not be used to satisfy a club's player exposure requirements, unless approval is received from the NHL. Such players also may be deemed exempt from selection by the League.

I dont think it matters as long as the games played requirements are met

If we'd have got the game to 3-0 we would have been screwed.
