Sabres, or you? - Tangled
Well, considering that Mike Harrington is a slightly more reasonable version of Garf who drove to Toronto to female dog and complain about Babcock choosing TO.... what do you think...??? |

To be fair GM's usually don't go to summer leagues to scout players whose rights belong to another team. It's a bit unusual. I don't think it's tampering per se, but it's pretty gauche, uncouth, indecorous, pick your adjective... |

So Vesey screwed Nashville, like Kevin Hayes dissed Chicago. Murray tries to weasel his way in and snag Vesey but Bowman showing up to show Vesey the Hawks are interested is tampering ? Puuuuuleeeese.
Last I checked scouting a player, including a guy who is not even a Sabre. He is an impending free agent, whose rights are owned by the Sabres, is not tampering.
Now if Bowman had told the Providence paper he envisions a line of Toews, Kane and Vesey in the fall, then he's playing with fire.
One other point, isn't Toronto already tampering with Vesey? Technically anything the father said to the kid that might have steered him away from Nashville could be construed as underhanded.
Sorry to rain on your little blog parade Garth. My parents back in Clarence tell me it's been a very dry summer, so consider this a donation. Now go get your shine box. |

This is just 100% paranoia from Buffalo fans, there are many prospects and roster players playing in this league, one or two of which are in the Chicago system. Bowman's doing his job, god forbid, maybe Murray should take notes on how to run a successful organization. However, Bowman might just be a huge guns n roses fan, they were at Gillette stadium last night. |

If anyone has heard his Interview from Boston area radio, they know he will sign with Bostom. He couldn't wait to " put on a Bruins Jersey" and play with Torey Krug. When he was talking about the Bruins he was like a kid with the new Christmas toy !!!! The longer he goes w/o signing with Buffalo the less chance he comes here. We made our pitch and it's kinda obvious it probably wasn't enough. Any rational fan can see this! |

Totally wrong here. Murray did things the right way, he traded for Vesey's rights. If Chicago and Bowman want to talk to Vesey they need to step up and trade for his rights, hanging around the rinks and surreptitiously scouting Vesey is tampering and the Sabres should be pissed about it. |

I thought it was a pretty reasonable statement. I'm not sure you know what sanctimonious means either. I think you were a little too anxious to throw a big word in there. You need to settle down, Francis. - SoCalPucks
He's attempting to re-explain the morals of the situation, I think that "sanctimonious" works quite nicely given his tone of being morally superior.
As for trying to throw a big word in there, what do I have to prove? There's a time and place that I could show off my qualifications if needed, and this really isn't it. Anyway, keep on plugging away there champ, one day you'll make it |

I don't know what you're trying to prove. The word is oddly misused in this context. It's a unique situation, quite literally having a Leafs employee in the room when you're trying to sign a player. I don't think asserting that it might constitute tampering in a sense is unreasonable in the slightest. We've all heard your "qualifications" already Francis, so no need to expound on those. You can spare us the pretense of humility now, good grief. Take off the homer pants when you read these comments, and you won't unthinkingly stumble into embarrassing yourself in the future. You're welcome. |

Vesey should have had to legally divorce his parents, once he decided to be a professional hockey player. |

is it tampering when a scout from say Team A goes to a game against Team B and Team C because Team A is possibly interested in Trading for certain defenseman on Team C? of course not.

Actually, asserting that you (in this case, he) believe(s) that these professionals may not understand the bounds of their obligations to the league and may make the informed decision to act outside of good faith is indeed why I used the word that I did.
At this time however, it's clear that you both (a) have no (frank)ing clue what you're talking about, and (b) seem to have a need to show yourself as being intellectually superior. This is like watching a dog trying to waterski - it's entertaining as hell, but at the end of the day, nothing has been achieved.
Have a good day now, Chad. I'm sure that school will be back in soon and you can channel your efforts elsewhere |

1. If the NHL is OK with Vesey's dad being in the room, then I guess it's OK.
2. You are getting tear stains on your blouse for nothing. He isn't signing with Toronto. He's going to Boston.
