If he doesn't hit 80-90 points playing with Tavares I don't see him doing it with the Sabres. He'll be good, don't get me wrong there, but I don't see him being that good. |

80-90pts...lol. Garth you never cease to amaze me. Where do you come up with such great comedic material. 69pts, 51pts and 64pts are his totals the last 3 seasons playing mostly alongside JT. If he can't crack 80-90pts with JT then it's certainly not going to happen alongside Eichel or ROR. As much as I like Okposo's game, he's not going to get you those numbers. Although I could hope for it, since he's a keeper in my fantasy league...lol |

Barrie is not the answer, he is a right shooting D-man, we are looking for a left D-man, But hey, I like your way of thinking. Keep up the good work |

"Ennis, Girgs and Moulson for Barrie and a 1st"
Yep, someone actually wrote this
Here's a quote that actually makes sense:
"Okposo will not even come close to 80 point"

With the concussions Ennis has suffered it will be hard to trade him. I think the best we can hope for is that he regains his form this year. He has great talent but had a tough go last year playing in a new system, new linemates, and injuries. If he has a good year he might be someone the Sabres can trade during the deadline or next offseason.
I like Okposo but it is a stretch to think he will get 80 points or more. 70 would be amazing but even that will be difficult.
I think if the Sabres trade Girgs, Bogo, and a draft pick they might be able to land Barrie. He would definitely be an upgrade to Bogo |

It took Taylor Hall to get Adam Larsson. And Barrie > Larsson (probably). If you want Barrie, it will cost you Reinhart, not spare parts

And that was a stupid (frank)ing trade |

Agreed. But it demonstrates the incredible premium being placed on top-tier defenders (like Larsson and Barrie)
To suggest that you could get Barrie, and a FIRST round pick, for three totally useless players, is ridiculous
Ennis, Girgensons, Moulson, and a second pick would net you a third round pick

Yesterday he was a 30+ scorer who has never scored 30. Today he is a 80 - 90 points player, who has never even hit 70 points.
All this with playing with one of the best players in the league for the last couple of years.
He already had his opportunity of a life time. He got to be John Tavares' wingman, and he turned that into a 7 year 42 million contract.
Sabre fans should be happy if this guy gets you 20 goals and 60 points for the majority of his contract, and doesn't miss 10 or more games like he seems to ever couple seasons. |

In today's NHL, who wouldn't be happy with that? |

That's probably what you'll get with him who knows maybe he'll be a different player and put up more points on a different team? Calling him a power fwd is beyond a stretch. Power fwd he is not how he got that label I'll never know? It used to drive me nuts when he was an Islander. He had 2 games against the Pens in the playoffs a couple of years ago that you could have called him a power fwd other than that he was inconsistent and had a tough time staying on his feet.
A long standing joke with Islander fans was Okposo constantly tripping over the blue line. With that said I wish him the best and maybe he'll find some chemistry with Eichel and you'll see a better more consistent player. 60-70 points is never a bad thing. |

Oh, I see how this works, Garth makes trade proposals that are ridiculous, but you can follow that up with a statement that you should be embarrassed that you even typed. To call Tyson Barrie a top tier DEFENDER is a bit of a stretch, he is a top notch power play specialist, but he is a liability in his own zone. |

Doesn't really matter what I say he is, he won't come cheap. |

Amazing how Micheal Pachla gets over 2400 comments on 2 blog posts about Okposo, Garf gets less than 100 comments on 2 posts, having prime real estate at top of Hbuzz doesn't help Garf get traffic, must be the quality or not of blog content. Roll eyes at most of what Garf writes. |

On Friday, I was told "not today" by Vesey's agent when I asked via email if Jimmy would be signing a pro contract on July 1.
I would have loved to read that email...I imagine it went something like this:
"Quick question, but will Jimmy be coming to Bufalo anetime son? We love too have slick, power forward capable of puting up 100-115 pts. I've heard he Jack Eichel's friend? He play on Eichel line if come to Buffalo."
