Does this solve the canes scoring woes? No. But it's a great step. The kids got talent. Just needs to learn how to win his battles on the boards. Francis did a great job here. Stan Bowman, I feel he should've dumped two or three picks with bickel rather than a cost controlled skill player. Questionable move. Very suspect. |

Bowman needs picks. He doesn't need to trade more after the deadline deals of the last 2 years..
TT is a non physical, pass first wing. They have his clone coming in Schmaltz. I thought TT might really emerge after his play in the playoffs of 15 but he simply looked allergic to contact this year. Hope he turns it around in Carolina. Some of his puck handling displays were simply amazing. If he gets back to developing like 15 he could be a good one.
Unless Bickell's knees rejuvenate I doubt he does much for Canes fans. Will never forget him in that 13 playoff run. Class act. |

Wonder what was the case. Injury he wasn't disclosing to media or a bumpy transition into his first full season..

lots of reports saying he didn't bulk up in the offseason, came back to camp the same skinny kid. He got roughed up and out early on in the season and never quite recovered and always shyed away from contact. |

An excellent move for a solid top 6 young forward and all they had to do was eat a one year contract (to help them hit the floor anyway). Great move! |

Horrible move.
I had TT in my keeper pool waiting for the day he played a consistent role in the Hawks top 6. I'm not as exciting about him now on the Canes. No offense to anyone but I was hoping he'd play with Kane or Hossa or Toews.
Good deal for both teams though. Not so much for me |

I was chirping a guy in my keeper league about this. He picked TT ahead of me last season but I scooped up Panarin in the late rounds. I wouldn't give up on him if I were you although I'm going to encourage my buddy to do that exact thing because now there is a chance he gets more offensive opportunities playing with Victor Rask who is developing nicely and should play a bigger role with E. Staal gone. |

I havery TO in my keeper league too. Debating keeping him more so now, he will play much more consistent PP time and top 6. Plus I think he's better suited to the eastern conference style of play.... that's my hope anyway. |

This is exactly the kind of deal both teams were needing to make.
Canes needed to fill a roster spot with a big guy on the 4th line, pick up some salary to get closer to the cap floor, and added a solid middle-six forward with good upside without giving up any current prospects.
On the flipside, the Hawks make some badly needed cap-space and pick up a couple mediocre draft picks in the process.
Losing TT probably stings a little, but it's not a deathblow by any means.
For the Canes, TT is a nice fit for a 2nd/3rd line role. I think the expectations for him are going to be not as high as they were in Chicago. Canes just need him to be a 45(ish) point guy as offense will get done by committee again this year.
His age and nationality will be a good fit too, as he can help Sebastian Aho and Aleksi Saarela with the transition to North America.
Canes now have:
Jeff Skinner, Justin Faulk, Joakim Nordstrom, - 24 Years Old
Phil Di Giuseppe, Victor Rask, Ryan Murphy - 23 Years Old
Elias Lindholm, Teuvo Teravainen, Jacob Slavin, Brett Pesce - 22 Years Old
Noah Hanifin, Sebastian Aho - 19 Years old |

A very solid stocked cupboard and it only cost them Bickell's contract to improve which is actually a benefit for Carolina who needs to hit the cap floor. Huge win.
