7 points out of a playoff spot, 4 points out of dead last in the league. Face it, this team has basically no prayer of making the playoffs. All that's left is to move more vets for picks and hope for some lottery magic.

So much for that, "Canada always starts slow" b.s. when losing too the U.S team. Canada's team was terribly coached.
U.S. team is strong, Beat Russia |

Fixed: Beat Russia 3-2 despite a 1G, 1A effort from Provorov who has nothing to do with any of the American goals plus a goal by Fazleev . |

It didn't take much. But 3 regulation losses in a row is probably the final dagger. They'd need to go on an absolute terror the rest of the way to have a prayer |

Rangers got 3 picks (2nd, 3rd and 7th) for Talbot... maybe Hexy could swing something like that for cost-controlled Neuvie. |

Oh we are in this thing Bigtime. There are no flat out atrocious teams. Last year on January 1st the flyers were 11 pts ahead of Carolina and Edmonton with buffalo nearing a collapse |

Absolutely. He's a total luxury that needs to be cashed in |

Sadly i think the only way we get serious value on him is if a #1 goes down on a good team for a porlonged period of time. I really dont see a demand for a goalie out there. |

The Flyers have quite a few assets that can be flipped for more picks/prospects.
Still have to deal with Lecavalier, Umberger & MacDonald. |

Buyout Vinny, eat money to move AMac, deal with RJ. Its better sitting on your hands with all three another year. |

There's a few teams out there with flat-out bad starters, tho. Cam Ward, whatever they've got in EDM these days, Calgary's mess of a tandem... who knows. |

Lowry did a miserable job.
The team didn't play well, lot of really undisciplined & foolish play, mediocre goaltending & struggles with defense. But Canada should have been one of the most fun teams to watch, and they were not.
Flyers fan bias exists, too, but the usage of Konecny & Sanheim was baffling to several of the junior hockey guys I follow as well. Against Sweden, Konecny was named player of the game & he got buried in the third. |

AMac's the only one I'd bend over backwards to move.
The others... let em ride out their deals... in the pressbox. |

I am pro all of this.
Having that much cap room-$13.1mm-as a sunk cost is a massive issue |

That's likely what I would do. If Vinny would agree to terminate it opens up so many other options. I have no faith he will do so, but it'd be awesome. |

And they can shave a few million off of that with those moves. Either way you're getting nothing from them.
Hextall is going to be a busy man this offseason.

How is Stolarz progressing in his 2nd year as a pro? His number's look much better this year than last year, is that a fair interpretation of his progress?

Progressing very nicely. Hit his first rough patch of the year a few weeks ago and came through it nicely, which is every bit as important as how he plays when he's in a groove.

Provorov is the real deal. Sanhiem lots of skill but is going to need some time in the AHL. Konectny is going to be a 3rd line player maybe 2nd liner. I Like Lindbolm too, he will have a chance to be an everyday player in the nhl too. |
