"It feels like we think we're more skilled than we are. Look at our lineup. We're not the most skilled team in the league...If you don't play the right way, it's tough to win games."

"That's about as close as I've ever seen the captain come to calling out his teammates."

I will go back to one of my catch phrases. Threes dressed up as a nine.

Hansen first line. Higgins second line. Burrows invisible Vrbata scoreless. Hamhuis a pylon.Edler brain farts. .

I don't know about that... I think it's more the mindset of some players on this team who think they are skilled enough to score from the perimeter, rather than going to the dirty areas. The coach can only do so much. The players have to get it done.

Vantel….hey - if NJ can be a competitive team with their lineup due to the way they play, so can the Canucks. I'm not saying they're gonna win the Cup but they play so poorly defensively it's shameful.

Willie Desjardins in not a quality NHL coach...

The team has 72 goals for, that's first in the Pacific and third in the Western Conference. It isn't about scoring, it's about defending.

The players either choose to play within a structured game set out by the coaching staff or the coaching staff employs a game-plan that doesn't suit the talent level in front of him.

Our defence is terrible at defending and our forwards aren't good at defending either because they don't play a defence first game.

They have superb goaltending. Easy travel schedule , smaller teams to play against. They play more of a trap , and the big thing is as Nucks 94 was pointing out . Willingness to go to the tough areas

Hansen kind of said it best when he was quoted 'we haven't had a 2nd scoring line since Raymond-Kesler-Samuelsson'.

We haven't had a balanced D either since Salo and Ehrhoff departed and Ehrhoff was downright brutal and soft defensively.

But it's true. Even after Samuelsson and raymond left Kesler still couldn't pick up the slack on his own with Higgins and whatever else he was given to work with.

I know our D absolutely blows and needs addressing but is there a way we can bring in a 2LC to help? Sutter is gone for 6 weeks and it will take him 2-4 weeks to get back into game shape so his season is lost.

It can happen...but it will be boring hockey all games 2-1. Maybe it's what we need for a bit.

Well yes, simplified, they just don't have enough talent on the team. Full stop. However, they can play better defensively if they had a coaching staff that made them play a certain way.

Weber is terrible defensively, so is Sbisa, so is Hamhuis this year. Hutton is a rookie who takes a bunch of chances offensively just like Edler. Our defence is terrible!!!

I think he has mental issues. Seriously, who changes teams twice and goes on and on like they're actually a true fan. Very weird behaviour.

He was just tired of the same old arguments/debates with the same guys here and needed a break….he's a Canucks fan.

We have scored 10 goals in our last seven games , so scoring is an issue . We had two big games where we got 6 against Chicago and 5 against Montreal . We score in bunches but we do struggle scoring

Yes it's an issue outside of the twins but the twins play on the team so their goals count, what I'm saying is, they can play much better defensively as a group and mask some of that lack of secondary scoring.

I'm trying to rag on the coaching but you won't let me

Said it before, I'll say it again. Shink deserves a bit of an extended look and is a guys who could get slotted in on the PP.

Yes Sedins are the ones scoring , but they are also giving up goals.

I think it has just come full circle. Burr the Twins Hammer Bieksa Kesler gave us years of entertainment but it's coming to an end.

Willie is at fault too

Wait. I know a lot don't want to hear this but this lineup will give us a serious shot at Mathews

It's true, their shot against/for stats are not too sexy. Fact is we need them out there to score, but probably also need less d-zone deployment as they can't seem to keep up.

That's where Sutter is needed. They were doing great when he was on their line

If we draft another forward in the first, I'm writing a strongly worded letter.
