So you play your best goalie against one of the worst teams in the league and start your backup (who's coming off injury) against the best team in the league.

I sincerely hope Desjardins gives Markstrom a healthy workload over the next few weeks. The Canucks are one of a handful of teams that have four games next week. Miller needs a rest.
Some decisions Willie's making are not that of a veteran coach IMO…but whuddo I know. |

Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Review: No Chance vs Surging Leafs, Markstrom Time
Jacob Markstrom will be the likely starter against Montreal on Monday after the Vancouver Canucks dropped a 4-2 decision to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night at the Air Canada Centre.
But the goal was called back because Henrik Sedin was deemed to be offside—which he was, but which no one picked up until the Situation Room called it in. Apparently they now automatically review all goals scored in the last two minutes of a game, so the reversal didn't come from a coach's challenge from within the building. - Carol Schram
It would be nice if the league was consistent with its application of the rule book. Stuff is called early in games that would be considered too chintzy to call late in the third period. While we have automatic reviews of goals late in the game because, I'm assuming they want the game decided properly without missed calls. Why not have these reviews after every goal and employ a few more people in the video review room?
Doesn't the league realize the first and second period is part of the same game, just as much as the third, and if a call is missed early in a game it is just as damaging to the outcome as calls late in the game?
Maybe they look at it as the referee's job to manage the game and even out the results if they fecked up earlier? talk about two wrongs not making a right, just like in scrums when they decide to penalize only one player when two are going at it. One of the most mismanaged sports/entertainment leagues in the world, with credibility somewhat the same as wrestling. If a play results in a penalty in the first period, the same play or infraction should result in a penalty in the third. |

In the long run it is the best thing. Go out and try to win every game but we cant complain when we lose or players get moved |

Not sure I would call the ACC hallowed ground. Has it ever seen a playoff game?
Not Maple Leaf Gardens. There may only be one hallowed ground left in the NHL: MSG. |

Hope Burrows news is so good that he misses a few games. Want to see Shink in a game or two. Maybe Higgins can get some good news too. Like to see Gaunce back up. |

If Canucks go after Byfuglien this year they could possibly have
Byfuglien Tryamkin Pedan next year. That is a big crew on the back end |

ACC was home to one of the biggest choke jobs ever seen in pro hockey playoffs. |

But he would be our dirty player and could have some food items on the concourse named after him...
He isn't the cleanest player, but we need more grit on defense, top pairing grit would be great at that, who else is available? Top d aren't available very often. |

Generally speaking if we had a lottery pick, who would you want? Mathews, Chychrun, or trade down to pick 7-8 and get a bc defender in Fabbro? |

Exactly. I went on a rant last night as the loss was frustrating but ultimately I'm totally on board with Losing and bringing in Lucic and Big Buff for next year.
