I've always been a Lucic fan, but you're right. What makes him think that no one should hit him? It's hockey. That Montreal hand shake line incident was bullpoop to. I've lost respect for him. Man up and play the game properly. |

Agreed on Lucic. He is the first one to lose his cool when hit with a clean check and is also the first to look for a guy at the end of their shift to start a fight. He might have been able to get away with it in the East but there are numerous players (captains none the less) that won't let his act fly in the West.
I agree it didn't look like a match penalty more like a game misconduct in my view and I doubt he gets suspended but hopefully it makes Milan aware that his antics won't fly anymore, however I doubt he gets that message. |

I agree 100%. If Lucic doesn't want to get hit then he shouldn't play hockey. I wish the league would suspend him one game for his stupidity. |

Great blog Paul! Lucic just looked like a fool last night on that play. He really has to change his game some or he is going to be downright useless for the Kings. |

I didn't see your post from the past, but I have been saying this about Lucic for years.
I wanted him gone instead of Seguin and it is ironic that a guy like Marchand can turn his poop around and clean his act up, but a guy like Lucic continues to act like a moron.
I'm so glad he is gone, wish we smartened up three seasons ago...... |

I can kind of see the match penalty. Lucic launches himself directly at Couture's head. The laughing certainly didn't help matters.
On a slightly different note though something Paul has talked about in the past is officiating out of fear. There are too many misconducts/game misconducts now. The officials aren't strong enough to take control of the game, so if things get heated without bubbling over into a brawl or cheap shots, they just throw the guys out of the game. Especially if they have a "reputation". Granted, the players may get warnings from the officials that we the fans aren't privy to, but often it seems like guys just get tossed for seemingly minor transgressions. I remember one game when John Scott was with the Sabres, I forgot who we were playing, but he lined up for a face-off, appeared to say something to the guy across from him and the guy was jawing back, but before the puck even dropped, Scott got a game misconduct, and the other guy got nothing. |

To be honest, Lucic seems like a dimwit. |
