So the Pens waited until the "evaluation metric tool" was developed before deciding not to re-sign him? What took THEM so long to get rid of him? |

I'm the first guy that thinks Glass shouldn't be on NYR's roster, but the fact that you are spending time ripping a guy who's trying to make a living doing what has been done in the NHL for the past 75+ years is comical. The game has evolved, and with that so have the players. He isn't a dirty player or a goon, and he does make some decent "hockey" plays here and there. Having him on the roster takes away from a player who can contribute in other ways, so for that reason he will be sent down to AHL. He's a good guy/team player who finds himself in a position where his "skill set" is no longer needed. Good luck Tanner Glass!! |

Any sanction to Rinaldo for checking a guy into the boards from behind?
Glass should have smashed Pasternak not gone after Rinaldo. Pretty sure if Pasternak gets hurt due to Rinaldo being a cock, the Bruins won't tolerate his poop for too long.
Still, the concern should be dirty play by a grub that is dangerous. |

Everyone who had #grit #intangibles are no longer employed by the Pens. I'm sure your favorite team has a few of these guys on the current roster |

Rangers fans can't tolerate anybody saying bad things about their players. Even if it's glass flipping out on a player for retaliating a slash. Hilarious.
And why is Ryan a Hypocrite because cooke played for the pens? Did he sign him or something? Tanner Glass, Rinaldo, Matt Cooke and the likes have no place in hockey. |

That's the thing. The Rinaldo/Cooke/Glass players don't care if they get punched in the face a few times if they can bury a player (see: Rinaldo on Letang). However, if their behavior results in a Glass-type running the team's best player (i.e. Giroux) in retaliation, then maybe the next time the player will think twice.
I'm not advocating any of this, as I hate seeing players get injured (hurt and injured are 2 different things). Also, this wouldn't stop the first incident, but it probably does prevent future incidents. That said, I agree that the Glass/Rinaldo types aren't needed in the game today. |

Speaking of hacks... DK had an article about scuds after last night's game.. scuds made comments like. He isn't worried he won't play and they can't have 6 offensive defenseman out there playing. Also says the team will see what he can do and what he brings....
Anyone else sad they pens are going to have 3.3 mil riding the pine or up in the box when they could have had someone better...
Hopefully after a couple games of being in the box he will as for a trade
Also I see BB plot and Sund are having a good camp... |

I think Matt Cooke is worse than any of the other guys mentioned. When was the last time Glass was suspended? Glass isn't a good hockey player, but wouldn't consider him a goon. He's a border line fourth line/AHL player who does good on PK. He's simply not needed any more. |

My friend, if you look for blogs during the Tanner Glass era, you'll see plenty about Glass being a waste of roster spot. He was the Scuderi of the board.
I think the most recent one was after Mcdonaugh cross-checked crosby in the head and having Glass didn't do anything to stop that. |

I don't disagree with Wison, no Ranger's fan in their right mind would. NYR have better skilled players to replace him. I just don't like wilson. He's a little bit of troll blogger like Tanner. - JohnnyNYR27
I wouldn't call him a troll blogger, especially not to Tanner's level. Wilson may hand-pick his evidence for things, but Tanner just says ridiculous stuff intentionally. At least Wilson believes what he's selling.
And really, neither of them come close to the likes of Richard Cloutier (Yakupov + 1st for Weber) or Matthew Barry. |

The league and GM's have made the movement to phase this BS out and 90% of the "goons" are unemployed. As GM's and scouts continue to dip into NCAA and KHL to sign skill, the same will happen to these fringe agitators. This topic will be obsolete in 2-3 years. |

It was Staal who cross checked him, by the way, and it hilarious that you are still holding on to that one..lol |

Yes...he helped the Penguins win a cup SIX SEASONS AGO. So did Hal Gill, who, if he was signed by someone today, would be "a hack" because this is not six seasons ago. And you're right, the GM is at fault, and that GM is no longer with the team. The fact is, Scuderi isn't even a shade of the player he was in 2009 and flat-out sucks. - jmatchett383

Matt Cooke at least has skill. Cooke's last disciplinary action was in 2011. Tanner Glass' was this past March. Cooke can at least play regular bottom-6 minutes if he keeps his head on straight. Glass is a waste of a roster spot unless he's punching people. |

Don't read his blogs then - that's pretty simple. I'm sure he doesn't care what you think. |
