Yes. He might only play on their 4th line, but that line can sometimes give a team an edge. Look at how the Kruger line played for the Hawks...

Overall, I like the addition of Santorelli.

Every year there is a certain faction of useful players that falls through the cracks and is signed for cheap. Mason Raymond was an example in 2013-14, Daniel Winnik was an example last year, and Mike Santorelli is looking like he can join that group in 2015-16.

- Ryan Wilson

Santorelli was that player last year for the Leafs.

I realize these are the dog days of summer, but you signed a guy for less than $1 million. If he sucks, you can send him to the A with no cap hit. There really is no debate here.

He's a hard worker. His numbers were actually quite respectable on the Leafs last year - more than a half a point a game, ended up +7 (keep in mind he was moved at the deadline, before things got too ugly here).

He'll play a smaller role with the Ducks, but I'm willing to bet anyone a beer you won't regret this signing.

He's a hard working 2-way player and will not hurt your team. For a one year contract under a million, it's a no brainer. Good signing.

"The Ducks now have the potential to have Getzlaf, Kesler, Cogliano, and Santoreli up the middle. Not too shabby."

While Cogs can play center, he hasn't for a long long time. Look for the order to be Getzlaf, Kesler, Rakell / Santoreli (as 3/4)

It amazes me how Ryan Wilson can turn every statement or comment into a Brandon Sutter slam. lol, The question is, "What did Brandon Sutter do to Ryan Wilson to get under his skin? lol, Mr. Wilson, give it up, lol, He is a Canuck now, let it go. I respect your opinions about hockey, even thou I completely disagree with your views, as I still think the Penguins would have been further ahead keeping Sutter than getting Kessel. Look at Kessel's numbers, minus what? lol, It is all about Kessel, not the team. Sutter was about the team, runs in his family. You wait Mr. Wilson, Kessel will tell you where to go one day. Get a life.

Don't worry. No one will respect your opinion after saying that.

I believe this signing was for injury insurance. The fact that Santorelli can play wing is a plus but after Christmas the Ducks will have 6 centers, Getzlaf, Kesler, Rackel, Thompson, Horcoff, and now Santorelli. I guess Murray is changing his mantra from "You can't have too many defencemen." to "You can't have too many defensemen and centers."

I see Santorelli as helping with the Ducks speed game. teh guy has skill and can skate. put him hagelin and kesler on a line together and they'll skate circles around the opposition.
