Thanks Bill. Is Bobkov going to be the next Bob in the Flyers history? The irony if he replaces Labarbera in net...lol.
Sorry, but he has size, and will be in his prime when he finishes with the KHL.
Just a thought.

I know, right? Getting the old number back. Fresh off of surgery for ab muscles and a bum hip.

IT'S ALL HAPPENING!

Wouldn't lose any sleep over it. He likely won't get claimed and losing a 6/7 guy is no big deal.

All joking aside, though, I do think the guy could be a useful player; far more useful than last year. He's just going to be overpaid for his role.

He better be more useful than last year or I am going to be very upset.

LaBarbera better not disgrace the legacy of Jody Shelley.

Sorry, I don't get the uniform number fervor. It's just so we can tell who is on the ice

I hope so, but am not sold. I'd love to shed him and Vinny somehow, without major cap implications.

He's vital.

Actually, he's ideal as a 6-7. Cheap, decent mobility, not wasting a guy with a huge ceiling's developmental time as a spare part. Better Manning than a vet making $2-3mm or more as a bit player or routine healthy scratch

Yup, I agree. I still think, depending on which team loses a dman or 2 to injury in preseason, that someone, probably Schenn, gets moved prior to October. That would pretty much lock up a spot as the #7 guy for Manning, unless one of the kids makes the squad.

It's very possible. I do think Manning probably clears, though. He's not exactly a guy who has a unique set of skills

Oh, absolutely.

But, if I had to figure one of Vinny or Umberger to have a bit of a bounce back year, I'd pick RJ, unless Vinny goes to Alex Rodriguez's pharmacist.

I think Umberger will be better. Maybe not good, but better. Vinny's cooked.

Yeah, I do think RJ has a better shot than Vinny to rebound. Not counting on much from either, though
