Corey Crawford's name is popping up as a potential trade candidate because the Hawks will have to choose between him and Seabrook when his contract runs out next year. I'd rather see the Hawks keep Crawford, but going to have to choose between them.

Oilers need a goalie. Hawks have one to potentially trade. Good trade partners for this. I think it wouldn't be crazy:

Crawford for #16 overall pick and Draisaitl.

I know people will probably not like including Draisaitl, but CC is a hell of a goalie and has 2 cups on his resume.

No goalie is worth a recent Top 5 pick in this league (Price might be the exception). So Leon isnt going anywhere

Seriously that's basically 3rd and 16th overall for Crawford... in what world is that remotely reasonable.

Instead of Talbot wouldn't a goalie like Bernier make more sense for the 16th? Would Tor consider doing that?

I'd say trading the 16th pick for a 28 year old career backup with 57 games played and a not so great AHL performance record would be equally unwise.

My bad. A 5th and Ference should do it, right?

What is a fair return for Crawford? Looking at the #16 pick plus a prospect?

A better alternative than using it to draft a 17 year old goalie, but still no.

To me it is all about scouting. You draft the best player available according to your scouts etc. If that player is said to be a goaltender then so be it. When you get down past the top few you aren't drafting for your current team needs anyways since they more than likely won't be playing in the NHL for a few years anyways.

That being said I get what you're saying in terms of 1st round goaltenders. The track record isn't great but shouldn't that be reflective of the GM/scouts that made those picks vs a preclusion of drafting a goaltender in the 1st round?

Oh Dannyboy...

I know the pipes, the pipes are calling, but you might want to find something less potent to pack them with. That stuff is messing with your mind.

This Draisaitl kid must really suck balls. He is always involved as a thrown in for even crappier players.
