Why did you bother to breakdown all the numbers only to ignore them?

To show how close about ten players are. And I didn't expect to pick Kopitar when I started either. |

Mine to. If you had to build a team for just this year, I would seriously consider making them my top two picks. |

I'm not sure I would agree with Kopitar for the heart Trophy. Great player, but there are a lot more players that are deserving this year.
If it's not Rinne or Price it should be Shea Weber. This guy is easily one of the most under-rated captains in the league. No one would have guessed Nashville would be in 1st place at this point in the season.
Even when Pikka Rinne went down with that injury Weber stepped his game up HUGE... along with the rest of Nashville's D. But it all starts with the captain and best player. Weber kept his team at the head of the pack even when they're franchise goaltender went down, not to mention this guy continues to produce offensively, he hits, he fights - What a leader this guy is and in his prime too. If he keeps this up he not only deserves the norris but the heart also.
Nashville also looks primed to be a serious cup contender with the additions of Franson and Santorelli. I would be scared if I were Chicago, St.Louis, Anaheim Ect in the west! |

Byfuglien will win the Norris. No questions asked. |

hahahah good breakdown... not sure why you got so turned on by the Corsi numbers. It doesn't matter how long Kopitar keeps the puck for if Ovechkin is still going to get a hat trick.
Kopitar has significantly less points than everyone in your list. He's not producing this year. He's good, but not the best player. He's not even the best player on the King's. Nice try though. |

Don't bother. James thinks the entire Nashville Predators roster is overrated.

High PDO, low Corsi, I am gonna have to take Doughty and Muzzin over Weber. The main reason Nashville is in first is because their goalie has stopped 95% of shots. Consider stopping 92% makes you the best goalie of all time, this is clearly too high and won't continue.
I like Weber, he's a fun player. He's not close to the Hart trophy, not in my opinion anyways. (See what I did there?) |

Except the pesky one about playing half his minutes at forward. |

Sorry I read the question wrong! I went off on a rant for the heart trophy haha
The best forward in the NHL this year in my opinion has been quietly Nick Backstrom. Everyone can praise Ovi for scoring so many goals but if you watch the games Backstrom is just so dynamic with the puck and makes everyone else on the ice so much better. This guy assists on 90% of Ovi's goals and puts them on a T for him. Washington has been beast this year for a number of reasons including Trots, Holtby, steady D, Ovi, young players stepping up, but don't ever forget about how valuable Backstrom is... year after year he is a force out there and in Ovi's shadow. |

Wait a minute didnt you say the only reason Rinne was good was because of the defensemen? |

Only makes him more deserving IMO.
Most versatile player in the NHL. |
