Happens quite often, i don't know that things will get as ugly. People will become more paranoid though, so it should be fun to watch the crazy comments that come with a player who is deemed "holding out".
I'm just waiting for a story like this to come out on Schultz, the craziness will be awesome. |

I still think something I going to get worked out at the 11th hour, but every week that passes makes it start to look more and more likely that he's going to be getting off that bus eventually. |

Dumb dumb dumb Give him what he's worth on a 5 year deal and move on. He'll become disgruntled and this will hurt CLB.
It's already hard enough to attract very good players to your market. |

Why in the hell would you give him a 5 year deal? You give him a 2-3 year deal and then still hold his rights as a RFA. A 5 year deal is DUMB DUMB DUMB.
Ryan had a year where he was sent to the minors and benched for his attitude. Then he had a great year after that. Too much uncertainty in his performance. He needs to sign the $3.5-4 per for 2 years, knock it out of the park and THEN hit up management for the big money. |
|
|
|
They are offering 2 x 3.5-4 and he is asking 2 x 7
hell, just give him 7 x 6.5 and call it a day |

Based on those comments....the only one that will be budging will have to be Ryan. |

i woulf offer a hefty load of assets for this kid. there is little doubt in my.mind he is a one hit wonder this is the exact type of production you expect from a guy you draft with a top five pick and to sit there and say you dont think he is legit yet is crazy to me. i would think it woulf make a lot more sense if this kid was a second round pick or later my money is on him being a force for a long time. seriously i woulf give up any defensive prospect we have plus our first this year for this guy but lou would never ever do anything like that not untill the kid ia at least 33 |

This won't get it done. He's a 1st line C in CLB. Forgot about that? Perhaps in your perfect world he'd sign for so low I'd give $5.5M for 5-6 years. |

Of all the contracts to pick on you picked a contract that hasn't been bad at all yet. Yes the guys has heart problems, but it hasn't become a bad contract like say Dipetrio, Lecavlier, Gomez, Redden, Richards, Luongo etc... |

What about him? Letang's deal is just fine. If you're talking about his heart problem you're being an ass. He's healed. You wish you had a Letang on your poor/old team |

Yeah, giving a 5 year 50 million dollar deal always works out to a guy that has ONE good year and was sent down to the minors and has had an attitude problem, |

for him.signed or his rights ? i said i would offer any of our d prospects so one of larsson , gelinas, merril, santini and severson and our first this year might even try the old burke two firsts and a second lol we lack offensive prospects in a bad way but seem to do very well with the defense we draft |

right because any player we have in our system is garbage right ? i seriously doubt you have a clue about any of them outside of larsson who you likely think is a bust at 21 gelinas posted 29 points in 60 games last season in his first year in the league but he is a bum right ? |
