Randall Ritchey: Top Five Games From 2013-14 - Fabbri Injured At U20 Friendlies I break down my top five games from 2013, including a 7-0 thrashing of the Panthers and a overtime win over Chicago in game one.

Blues first round pick, Robby Fabbri was injured during the Canada vs Czech Republic game today at the U20 tournament.

Top 10 games or 5 games? Also, top games? Looks to me as if this is top wins.

If it is games then Numbers 1 and 2 MUST be the 1st round game 6 OT winner by Jonathon Toews and then the utter realignment issued in game 7 of the 1st round.

Game 6 was an extremely well played game by both teams.

Game 7 was a wake up call to Coach Chaos and his "run the stars" game plan. You have to count it if you want to evolve.

If Hitch actually moves away from that BS this year you may be a real contender.

Every game except 6 was good... There was no game 7. Hitch's plan was def not to run the stars... It was to play good defense and try to prevent the Hawks rush plays. He even went as far as saying there would be no retribution for the awefull hit on Backes. Hell there wasn't even any fights all series.

He had to mean Quenville's plan to run the stars, given how both Toews and Kane were in the series until the blatant intent to injure hit on Backes. Would be really interesting to see that series if the Blues had been more healthy, both going into it and if Chicago hadn't played incredibly dirty.

No kidding. Backes was the only star to get run out of the series by my recollection. Toews took one good hit in game 6 and Kane was basically untouched.

Hawk fans have this perception because their team is routinely out hit. However the two guys on that team who do play a physical game, Seabrook and Bickell, take runs at guys and the fans cheer and beat their chests.

How about that game 7 guys, that was a wild one huh?

And Blues fans didn't do that when Backes destroyed Nathan Mckinnon an 18 year old?

What comes around , goes around.

For God sakes he didn't get "destroyed", it was a hockey play that tends to happen when a team is down a few goals late in a game.

The whole thing got blown out of proportion by Roy.

Just by what you just quoted then the same thing is true about backes and the Blues fans are blowing it out of proportion. If Backes did the same hit on Seabrook you would see nothing wrong.

Some Blues fans would see nothing wrong. But there are idiot fans in every fan base. Don't assume certain guys are idiots until they prove it to you.

Apples and oranges my friend. When one player gets hit directly in the head hard enough to be concussed, it is a potentially career threatening injury. When Lappiere did it to Boyle near the beginning of last season, we were ready to run him out of town. We've seen enough really good players get drilled in the head enough times to know that you don't even want to see it happen to your worst enemy.

Then there's Bickell targeting Sobotka's knee. These are what are known as dirty, or at the very least borderline intent to injure hits.

Seriously? If your talking about this clip you're crazy. Backes bumps McKinnon and McKinnon takes exception and retaliates. Backes then shows him who's boss. Nothing dirty about it, he never even threw an actual punch. So what if he's 18, it's the NHL. Backes gave him every chance to defend himself unlike Seabrook. If you can compare these altercations and say they are equal youre the biggest homer on earth...

I guess the knee on knee hit on Matt Stajan was ok and Stajan over played it.

You said Mckinnon... not Stajan. I had have to go back and look at that one.

Backes didn't try and hit him with his knee. He was going for a hit and Stajan tried to side step him. Backes leg was not extended, he didn't try to knee him.
