Gillis and Snow are two of the greatest hockey minds in the NHL. Imagine the possibilities if they worked together?! |

Spezza is unlikely to be acquired by Toronto. I still think Ottawa hangs onto him.
If not, then wait for him to reach UFA and get him there.
Leafs should look at getting rid of Dion first. NYI could be interested. |

What would the Isles have to give up to get the Sedins?
Tavares + 4th/5th overall pick?
Strome + G.Reinhart + 4th/5th pick? - jdfitz77
C'mon....Sedins are getting older. Why would the Isles do this? |

If we could slot Spezza in the 2nd line spot to play with Loops then it'd work, but what would he cost in a trade? He's injured all the time and not reliable, so why pay anything of value...
What about Kadri, is it time he moved on? Could we get a crack at Ekblad for Kadri+ this spring? |

Oh the Swede sounds of Brooklyn. The food is very good there also Hank and Danny. Good schools for the kids. They even have parks. They may get mugged but that is a different story.

Not that i see this rumor as plausible, but these two teams do compliment each other in the following regard.
Not only does the NYI's have the ability to acquire the twins, both through cap flexibility and youthful/future assets, but the assumed trade would benefit both parties.
For one, the twins would instantly give the Islander's a fearful, robust top six, allowing the twins to play in a second line role while also having a veteran, leadership influence over kids in the system.
From the Canucks perspective, the Islander's are quite literally the definition of a perfect trading partner... They hold a high pick this year, and a vast selection of quality prospects. |
