Numerous players come to LA and have scoring fall off charts? In the last few years which players? Carter, as a King, has scored at a 40 goal pace. Yes the system does hinder pure offense but LA also lacks a true sniper outside of Carter.

Trade deadline possibilities like Cammalleri, Gaborik and Vanek are all better goal scorers than any King outside of Carter. I've heard Moulsons name mentioned but can't see Lombardi swallowing his pride and trading a 1st rd pick and prospect for a guy he simply let walk away.
The next few games will definitely be interesting.

Despite the minor disagreement keep up the great work and coverage of the Kings! It's much appreciated!!

Early in the season when the Kings were hot it was hard to see them lose, now the tables are turned and it is hard to imagine them winning. Relax, no team can stay hot for 82 games. After the break they will show us what team they are. Big games are the Kings thing. I expect to see a glimpse of our playoffs this Thursday and Saturday.

Jason, the Jackets are currently a playoff team. They have the 2nd wildcard in the east as of today.

Saw the edit. I'm sure the Kings will get their revenge when the CBJ visit Staples Center in a couple weeks.

cammy was shipped off the first time because his style didn't fit the team. neither style has really changed. moulson was let go because he couldn't crack the lineup the way he played the game, so why overpay for him now?

nick leddy would cost more than say jarret stoll. and how much is giordano making? would he even fit cap wise?

if scoring was a concern, maybe giving more than 3rd line minutes to toffoli (much less demoting him) would be a start...

The toffoli thing is an absolute head scratcher. I hope its not presaging a move that includes him. A trial run with Kopi seemed to make sense before a demotion.

Even with the reduced ice time and dry spell, he was still getting similar shots/60 in his last 10 games (8.9) compared to the first 10 of the season (9.9). I don't get it.

I heard from mayorsmanor that there is a some technicality regarding Toffi playing a certain amount of games with the Kings and losing eligibility to play for Manchester during the Olympics. If that isn't the reason (which doesn't seem like that good of a reason anyway) then I'm scratching my head too.

Yes Toffoli needed to be sent down in order to be eligible to play in Manchester during the Olympics. Good move IMO as the youngsters need to be playing and developing during the break. I can see getting cammy as a hired gun considering we got a first rd pick for him and it would likely cost LA one along with a prospect. Burke would likely want truculent forwards like Andreoff or Sabourin

i'm hoping any deals before the deadline include the likes of colin fraser so we can bring up one of the kids next year like the two you mentioned.

Maybe they should at least threaten to trade Brown again, it seemed to work last time and his play has been way off the mark the entire season. Who knows... maybe some team would over pay for him and we could ditch his salary, I know everyone loves the guy and I do too when he is making moves with the puck and playing the body without the puck, but lets face it he has been absent from both of those aspects.

The team lacks speed and players that can make moves at full speed with the puck. There needs to be a balance between the puck possession game and having the ability to make strong moves to the net with speed and puck handling skills. Richards is slow and makes bad passes in the transition areas of the ice or just flat out wiffs his passes. Williams and doughty start out good with the puck at speed but lack that burst at the critical moment and it seems that is the point when the puck flubs off of their tape.

I am pretty happy with Kopitar and carter's play although it seems like we have a bunch of one tool guys around them at the moment. Stoll is only good on face offs and causing turn overs on the forecheck but what good does that do if there is no one picking up that loose puck and making the other team pay? Nolan is throwing body and fighting at times but again, he is another player that gets right to the point where you think he is gonna make that next step or stickhandle and produce offense but sadly never does. Lewis couldn't hit Heidi Fleiss with a fist full of condoms but he does do some good things everywhere else on the ice.

Mitchell and Voynov have been pretty horrible this season and Muzyn has been inconsistent over long stretches, meaning he plays well for a fist full of games and then craps the bed for the next fist full of games.

This line up could be the way it stands but I don't see them playing at the energy level it would require for them to start producing goals and tightening up the defensive zone mistakes a bit more, like we have seen over the past 2 years.

team speed is a killer, we need it badly without sacrificing the grinding possession play aspect. We see how devastating a lack of team speed is against Chicago, Columbus and all the other teams that have even a fraction more speed than the kings and it kills us every time.

While that rule is true the Kings said it was entirely performance based and not because of the olympics.

Updated to reflect that and the minor league shuffling of Vey, Pearson, Toffoli and Schultz.

Toffoli, Vey and Pearson are the future so why not keep them up and keep them playing?

For those saying they haven't been producing, who else on the team (Besides Carter) is?

I think the team has grown bored, at least I know I have when watching them play. They rarely get a decent cycle going and everyone appears to be trying too hard to make that perfect pass.

I'm kind of sick of the King on the top line experiment... He's playing with Kopitar and Carter, of course he's going to get goals and points...

Lets put it into perspective.. Dwight King's amazing offensive career year that shows he's a top line player he has 11 goals and 11 assists. Brown's god awful year that has him bouncing between the bottom 2 lines he has 10 goals and 6 assists.

I'd rather stick Brown back on the Kopitar line for a while along with Williams and let them get some chemistry again, instead of juggling the lines and sticking King back up there 5 minutes into the game. He's not a top 6 winger, I like him, but he's not a top 6 guy, especially not the top line.

Q: Dropping 10 of the Last 15, Where do the Kings Go From Here?
A: 11 of 16, now let's go for 12 of 17.

But seriously King fan, great game tonight. Let's hope we don't have to meet you in the playoffs. There won't be any Ducks players left after Brown knees and slew-foots them all.

As an outsider, it seems very confusing how the Kings consistently struggle to score, at least during the regular season, the past two years. It's not like they don't have enough talent up front.

Is it entirely due to the system they play? That seems too simplistic to be the case.

It would have to be in the first round because that's usually about as far as the Ducks can go these days
