Travis Yost: Three Thoughts - Travis Yost
My three thoughts.
1. The West is better than the East.
2. The East is worse than the West.
3. Therefore the Canucks are better than the Sens.

What an embarrassing display by Andy last night. Normally I wouldnt soley but blame on the goalie with the way our D has been but last night hes got take responsibility for. Soft, soft goals. As soon as Lehner went in the whole team seemed to rally and play better. And the fact Andy got pulled not on a bad goal, but a dive which was absolutely pathetic. Man that says it all... |

fair enough….wins have been hard to come by. Knocking at the door against good teams but not closing out the deal. Sens have a good team, I said before the year started they'll finish ahead of the Leafs. Toronto has just had outstanding goaltending or they'd be out of a playoff spot. |

thnx.
we are struggling right now and we need to make some changes, but we have a young team and if our stupid owner ever decides to open his wallet and spend to the cap we have the right core to build an awesome team. |

Zib has been putting of steady numbers since being called up. Some of the only secondary scoring they've been getting outside the top line. |

I blame Spezza on two goals at least: The power-play goal from the point (why is he so far away from the point man and half-playing the boards?), and the 5th goal (bad turnover trying to reverse the play - he could have easily sent it behind the net to Methot). Anderson was double-screened on the second goal, so no fault there.

i think it was spez that produced the giveaway on the 5th goal that gave the nucks a clear walk into the crease to challenge lehner one and one. clearly a "on no spezza" moment. sigh. it was brutal bc we were gaining momentum after zibbys goal. destroyed us. all down hill after there.

this post is a perfect reply to your original post also.............only replace sharks with canucks, and replace thornton and marleau with the sedin sisters. |

Excellent post as usual Travis, the host, Yost.
My two thoughts for the day are 1. Anderson needs to back up Lehner and 2. That Zinanejad kid is really coming into his own and he needs to play top six and he will develop into a top scorer. He has break through written all over him.
I really wonder what MacLean is thinking and his logic seems to be off in my opinion. If he decides to put Zibby on a fourth line or send him back to the AHL or something stupid he should be fired. He is ruining some of this talent with his head game approach, just my opinion. |

Im not out here posting how the West>East. Im just saying, for a team that's sitting outside the playoff picture right now and claiming to be better then any team in the east, you're a confident basement team.
And really ... sharks not being a playoff team ... hasn't this been beaten to death already? Im not out here making comments about Vancouver rioting... |

Why isn't this being brought up more? I didn't catch the game, but in the highlights he clearly dove and seemed to just want to get out of the net. I've never seen that before. If you don't want to play when you're getting lit up, take yourself out. It's been done before. Don't go and fake an injury to get out. Slightly embarrassing. Anderson has been our guy for the last two season and was our MVP last season, but it's time to hand over the reins to Lehner. Lehner #1 by January 1. |

A few thoughts.
Karlsson's performance is never as good on the second night of back to back games. Especially when he logs 30 minutes.
Anderson is having a bad year. Time for he and Lehner to switch roles. When Lehner was beat on the fifth goal it appeared as if he yelled at Karlsson. Not bad.
ZBad is a beast.
This team would not miss Spezza if he were traded. |

Not to mention on the goal before he got pulled he basically got brushed by a Vancouver player, totally gave up on the play and it ended up in the net. I guess he figured it was goalie interferance but still, you dont just give up! Not only that but Lehner started suiting up thinking he was hurt and Andy waved him off saying "i'm fine". It was the most bizzare thing I've seen. He should of been pulled right then and there if not the goal before. |

He's looked to casual on some shot/plays this year. He's never been the greatest positional goalie in the world, so he needs to rely on his quickness and reactions to be most effective. Maybe it's just a slump, but regardless, it's time for Lehner to get some quality starting time. |
