Not sure I believe this one.

There is also this guy called Ryan Murphy the canes have who the oilers might have interest in..... Also lol as if the leafs would tell the oilers to (frank) off if the Oilers wanted Gardiner(probably some other stuff to) in a trade for Yakupov, also why the (frank) would the leafs want Yak, the last thing the leafs need is another top 6 winger. Not believable at all.

I could see the Oilers wanting one of Ruutu or Faulk in a package with a prospect or two (like Rask, Brody Sutter, Lowe, or Altshuller) and a depth player (perhaps bottom-6 guy) for Yakupov and a guy like Smid or N. Schultz (depending on if Faulk comes back or which prospect[s]).

I'd be hard-pressed to believe they'd give up Faulk, though. Unless they see something HUGE in Ryan Murphy or perhaps wanna add J Schultz as well as Yakupov, then he's staying there.

I think this was a case of (DR)EK going with the most ridiculous trade scenario his dog could come up with. Tomorrow we should learn that Nails will land in Florida for Scotty Gomez and an all expense paid vacation to Miami for MacT

0% the Canes move Justin Faulk. They love him. Cornerstone of their franchise. I doubt they deal Murphy either at this point. He's been great to start the year, and the team is going to look to those two to anchor the blue line for the next decade.

Assessing the Canes roster right now, I can't see how they could put together a package that was much better than say Tim Gleason, Victor Rask and a 1st round pick. No ideaif that would get it done.

Everyone is ready to give up. Watching the games this year there is more wrong with the team than the play of one player. Moving Yakupov isn't the answer. You think he's going anywhere if Hall is out for a period of time? Probably not. Let's face it if the team was .500 (which if not for bad goaltending they probably would be) his slow start would be a non issue.

you have to remember a player's value is only what another team is willing to pay. i don't think toronto would offer much more than that and if edmonton doesn't want it, then let them keep yakupov, potentially struggle and stay in the basement the entire season, and draft in the top 5...again.

a lot of people here are acting like edmonton would be doing a team a favor by raping them with an insane return. acting like the hurricanes should be honored and send a thank you card if edmonton decides yakupov for skinner + faulk + 1st is a worthy enough offer.
