Good summary. I paid more attention to the 2013 draft than I usually would in past years. This would be interesting every so many months to see how everyone progresses and which teams made out well.

first

Anthony Mantha : 16 goals and 28 points in…9 games.

at he time I was hoping the leafs had him on the radar..when Detroit took him, I knew they should have

Second

Andreas Johnson : Fast…he’s really, really fast. Right now…he is THE steal of the draft. The 202nd overall selection has had an insane start to the season in the Elitserien. He sits 9th overall in scoring with 7 goals and 12 points in 13 games, the highest scoring U20 player in the league. He is just so freaking fast. I wonder how high he would have gone if he wasn’t 5’10?

I see Connor Crisp is putting up some numbers. Is he supposed to be a scrapper?

If he hits his potential it's probably as a fourth line fighter yes.

Good to see the Habs use one of their picks on this type of player. Who was the last guy like this they drafted? Jimmy Bonneau?

Thanks for this. How are Cole cassels and Jordan Subban progressing? It's great to read something about how the future players are doing in their respective leagues.

Being a Flyers fan I need something to look forward to. Apparently the 2014 draft will be interesting to me sooner than I had hoped.

Nice job French. Can you imagine the oiler with 2 YAK's...

Nice to see Nate off to a strong start, I look for him to improve every game, he is that type of talent.

I am wondering it Hertle can keep up his scoring pace to give Nate a major run for rookie of the year.

Saw Verhaeghe live the other day. Kid looks fantastic. Won faceoffs, played good d, sees the ice exceptionally well. He looks bigger than i thought he would. He moves rely well and protects the puck well.

Good to hear about the Swedish kid.

Gauthier is disappointing a bit, but why you say about faceoffs? Each boxscore i saw had him greater than 50%?

Nice blog Adam, would be cool to see a few of these throughout the year. That's annoying about Gauthier but Varheage has been unreal. Just dominant. That swedish kid is a nice surprise too.

And Mantha, that is unbelievable.

Rangers need that gritty, agitating type of player that can score. Obviously Duclair is years away. Hopefully he finds a niche for himself.
