I don't see him as the type of player that Coach JT wants for the team, we've got enough of that kind of guy. |

Booth still not cleared to play so he may be placed on LTIR as of opening day, that may clear up some cap space? Hopefully he's traded for a bag of pucks so we can move on!! |

Booth might not be "cleared to play" but he was cleared to start skating in August. Unless he gets another injury or suffers a setback there is NO WAY he is on LTIR at the start of the season. That would mean he wouldn't be ready for another 6 weeks.
The only reason to trade him would be if they had someone else they could bring in to use the salary cap that he frees up, which likely won't be happening until closer to the middle of the season when teams start to drop out of playoff races. To trade him for the sake of trading him is absolutely ridiculous. Better off having him as a spare in the press box than giving him away for nothing. |

Signing Brunner WOULD go against what the Canucks have been saying all summer, then again so would signing the Sedins |

????
I'm guessing you're one of those guys who values toughness and fighting over scoring? |

Apparently first liners and dominant puck possession players grow on trees according to quite a few Canuck fans. That's comforting to know. I wonder why lottery teams don't go out and sign/trade for all these first liners! |

Enough of what kind of guy? A fast-paced skilled forward who led a 2nd-round playoff team in post-season goals as a rookie? It may be the case that Tortorella wants more toughness in the lineup, but I'm not sure the Canucks really have any forward in their lineup that plays like Brunner.

Todd Cordell: Are The Vancouver Canucks In On Damien Brunner? - ToddCordellVAN
I like Brunner, think he has mad skills, and he was able to produce from every line he played including in the playoffs without being given much PP time.
Brunner on the Sedin or Kesler line is an upgrade over Kassian, Schroeder, or (insert player here) that we've been discussing all summer. He's not the JT shot-blocking type, but then again if that's the style of play we'll be seeing in Van we're done for already.
If we can nab Brunner for the remainder of the cap space (about $2.2m) on a 1-2 year deal I'd consider it a good signing. |

Agree. Everyone was female doging last season about secondary scoring. So let's go get some secondary scoring. |

Agree as well. I'd take him for the right price for sure. But I believe the Canucks are at the 50 contract limit, anyone know for sure? |

I would really like to see how Shinkaruk looks in the first week in training camp. He is the one guy that could make the jump. He has nothing to prove in junior and can't go anywhere but back to junior or make the jump. Don't want to rush him but let him play a couple games with the Sedins and see what happens. You never know, the kid is oozing confidence and can snipe. |
