Unbelievable draft by the Sabres. Lots of talent and picked at a great value. As a Flyers fan I am extremely jealous of your draft picks haha. Hopefully Morin and Hagg pan out for the Flyers. |

At first I was not pleased with the back to back D picks. I have done a complete 180 on ths draft. It looks as if it was a great second round, and all of the picks have size to them.
Hopefully Risto and Zadorov are the talented, nasty D men Buffalo has been looking for. |

I like it too, but passing up on the chance to get Lindholm is a mistake......just an opinion. Obviously comparing him to Forsberg is inaccurate but he could turn out to be very close skill set wise. Wish we coulda had em |

By its self, the draft...I.e. players drafted look good and I'm satisfied with the picks. However, draft day is much more than that, Daecy has preached it himself for years...best time to shape the team with trades. Miller and Vanek are still here.. Major failure let alone a disappointment. Should have moved at least one of them for players, prospects and picks. Is Darcy over valuing hislayers once again...so let's hold on to them and watch them walk with little to nothing to show for it...Longer it goes on, the less value each has. Time to deal them was over the weekend...That is what he did wrong Terry |

It was Sekera+8+2nd rounders to move up to 5. Glad we passed that up. |

To make a trade - there has to be trading partners and you have to get a decent return . That was not there . Most of the trades will happen after Free agency starts |

Remember, Darcy overvalues his players. Just like opposing GM's undervalue his players. People forget that concept. The dog on and on about Brennan for a late pick but then whine about not shipping out 26 and 30. |

Really the reason is that this team desperately needs scoring, and the top two picks were d-men.
I'm not saying they are bad picks by any means, I'm just saying that it seems the bigger issue with the sabres is their lack of scoring.
It is coming close to reminding of the Bills' philosophy for the last 10 years...draft the "best available" rather than fit your needs. We know how that's working for them. |

I personally think the biggest issue was on Defense. We couldn't get out of are zone which is why the offense lacked in point production. Obviously we are weak on both sides but getting two shutdown guys will help go a long way IMO.
Plus the forwards we got in the 2nd round "would have gone first round in other drafts that weren't as loaded" could turn out to be great players for us. |

Darcy says he's been in contact with Miller and Vanek's agents. Talks about guys in the last year of their contract being shipped out of Chicago and the cap going down. Sounds like he is going to lowball Miller and Vanek. |

I think we are also forgetting that we have some interesting players in our system that could be great. Armia is ready to come over, Zemgus could be healthy, Grigo has a year under his belt and if we happen to sign a scoring winger or trade for one then we could be in okay shape.
Granted it's all up in the air and it's a pipe dream. But being a Buffalo fan my whole life, that's what I generally hold out hope for. I keep coming back for more and more abuse by these teams in hopes that they finally make the right move. |

ESPN doesn't know poop about hockey. Take it with a grain of salt Sabre fans. B+ yeah, A- maybe, but no A+. - rebel
Three Draft picks for a third line checking forward that is injured often. Have fun with that. |
