I didn't think Brouwer's comments were particularly wise or necessary, but he said the same thing that others have said or intimated over the years. BTW, Brouwer has been playing his ass off for this team - he and Ribeiro have been the Caps two best players. You might not like what he said, but he is a really solid player, not just some 3rd line throwaway as you seem to suggest.

And isn't this the same Troy Brouwer, which many people posting on here said they'd like in return for Lu? Not saying he's awesome by any stretch, but 200 hits, with relatively low penalty minutes, and 20 goals is pretty nice on any line.

Who was on the ice for the first 2 Coyotes goals? Lapierre, Kassian, and Wiese. Lapierre and Kassian were pretty much responsible for each goal (Wiese is a total non-factor in all ways). Exactly why should they be playing more? They were horrible and deserved to sit down with Ballard on the end of the bench...not that many/any other Canucks player was much better.

Kesler hurt again?

You wanna know why Vancouver couldn't beat the trap? Because the guys on this team who are best suited to play against a trap team were also the four guys (Weise, Booth, Kassian and Lappy) who were on the bench the most.

No offence Ian, but every time those guys were on the ice it ended up in the back of net, and not the right one. I don't think more minutes would have helped any.

Like the eye candy blogs lately, when the hockey is bad at least we have something to look at talk about.

This team is quickly losing its eliteness, as painful as it is to say, i much preferred the hard hitting, workman like team we witnessed before the return of Kesler and Booth.
